As the Director, Learning & Development, you will be responsible for leading Orion's overall learning strategy and initiatives. This role involves designing and implementing programs that enhance employee skills, leadership capabilities, and organizational performance. The Director will work closely with senior leadership to align learning and development (L&D) efforts with the company’s strategic goals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. As we continue to evolve and live our Orion values, we are looking for someone to grow with us.

Candidates must work in-office at one of the following locations for at least 3 days per week: Omaha, NE; Sacramento, CA; Hebron, KY;.

In this role, you’ll get to:
Learning & Development Strategy:
Develop and execute a comprehensive L&D strategy that aligns with Orion’s business objectives and workforce needs.
Align talent development initiatives with organizational goals and core values to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Identify current and future training needs through job analysis, career paths, performance appraisals, and consultation with people leaders.
Program Design and Implementation:
Design and implement comprehensive learning and development programs, including onboarding, leadership development, technical skills training, and professional growth initiatives.
Lead the development and management of OrionIQ and its ongoing assessment to ensure it meets the training and development needs of team members.
Create and manage an internal gig marketplace to provide employees with opportunities for cross-functional projects and skill development.
Partner with people leaders to identify key skills for success within roles and departments and design skill development opportunities for team members.
Oversee the implementation and expansion of digital learning platforms to ensure access to relevant and up-to-date training resources.
Create and manage global training programs to address the needs of Orion’s diverse and distributed workforce.
Ensure training materials are culturally relevant and effectively delivered across different regions.
Leadership and Coaching:
Lead and mentor the L&D team, including managers and other L&D professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Set clear goals and expectations, providing regular feedback and development opportunities for team members.
Oversee the existing Leadership Development Program and Aspiring Leaders Program to build a pipeline of future leaders.
Facilitate monthly learning opportunities for people leaders across the business.
Provide coaching and mentorship to managers and leaders to enhance their ability to develop and retain top talent.
Foster a culture of support and collaboration, encouraging leaders to support one another and their teams.
Analytics and Reporting:
Establish KPIs and metrics to assess the impact and ROI of L&D programs.
Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of talent development programs and make data-driven decisions.
Provide regular reports to senior leadership on talent development metrics and program outcomes.
We’re looking for talent who possess:
Strategic Thinking: Ability to align L&D initiatives with business goals and drive long-term organizational success.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Program Management: Strong skills in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale L&D programs.
Analytical Ability: Proficient in using data and metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior leaders.
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of 7 years of experience.
Obtains Orion Industry Certification.
Owns and manages relationships with stakeholders directly and work effectively with people at all levels in an organization.

Salary Range:
$103,584.00 - $162,615.00The pay listed in this posting indicates the estimated pay at the time of this posting; however, may vary depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, Orion offers a competitive benefits package which includes health, dental, vision, and disability coverage on day one, 401(k) plan with employer match, paid parental leave, pet benefits including pawternity leave and pet insurance, student loan repayment and more.
