A DevOps Engineer at PDQ plays a crucial role throughout the product development lifecycle to boost developer productivity and ensure efficient processes. Through close collaboration with development teams, they deliver highly performant applications. Through clear understanding of automation tools, they implement consistent and maintainable infrastructure.
How you'll spend your day:
- Assist in migrating workloads to Kubernetes
- Configuring and building Infrastructure as code in Terraform
- Assist development teams with standards and practices around CI/CD
- Assist development teams with infrastructure planning and testing
- Collaborate with development teams to increase efficiency
- Development and monitoring of infrastructure (test and production environments)
- Respond to and resolve infrastructure health and performance issues
- Participate in weekly on-call rotation and incident management
- Ensure cloud application continuity with disaster recovery plans
We're looking for people who have:
- Experience and expertise working with Kubernetes
- Experience with tools to define infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform)
- Ability to troubleshoot problems
- Understanding of the importance of security best practices
- A mindset of collaboration and empathy when working with the team or developers
- Bonus: Experience writing technical documentation
- Bonus: Experience in the configuration of tracing, centralized logs, metrics, and monitoring
- Bonus: Proficiency with Cloud technologies (Specifically, Google Cloud Platform or Azure)

- Google Cloud Platform/Azure
- Kubernetes/Helm/Docker (managed GKE)
- Terraform, GitHub/GitHub Actions
- PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis
- Grafana, Sentry, etc.
- Applications written in Elixir, C#, Go, Ruby, JavaScript
