PDQ's Mission: We make device management simple, secure and pretty damn quick.

PDQ's Core Values: Honesty, Ownership, Collaboration and Improvement

Job Description:

Before you apply, please note:

  • This is a remote role open to candidates residing in Romania.

PDQ is seeking a Solutions Engineer to help support its flagship Windows endpoint management products, helping other system administrators like yourself with PDQ Connect (agent-based, cloud-based device management) + Vulnerabilities (vulnerability management and remediation), PDQ Deploy and Inventory (agentless on-prem device management), and SmartDeploy (agent-based, cloud-based Windows OS deployment).

These products offer overlapping application deployment and device management capabilities. Connect is a newer, cloud-based product under intense development, including vulnerability-scanning and mitigation. You will learn and support multiple PDQ products in parallel, and support PDQ’s customers in utilizing new features while also diagnosing bugs and evaluating and escalating feature requests.

Because Deploy/Inventory and SmartDeploy rely heavily on a functional networked ecosystem, you will experience a wide variety of environments and setups, some sophisticated and some not. We are looking for people with more than just familiarity with our products – you will bring a solid customer-centric, troubleshooting sysadmin background and want to grow with our ever-expanding company.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assisting PDQ customers with questions and issues, typically through email but occasionally using remote access. You will work primarily with our stellar system administrator customers. No more fixing printer jams, dealing with other’s Outlook calendaring nightmares, or replacing batteries in wireless mice.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation and content, including guides and KB articles. If you're comfortable on-camera, over Zoom, maybe even contribute to PDQ’s video library and weekly webcasts (completely voluntary)
  • Being on the front line for bug reports to translate and deliver bad news for the Product and Engineering teams to tackle
  • Fielding feature requests and feedback from customers and internal departments that help guide PDQ’s Product and Engineering teams to make their products even more valuable
  • Lending a helping hand to other teams and departments by answering questions or collaborating on puzzles and problems
  • You will learn about the CODA Intelligence/PDQ Detect products for vulnerability scanning and remediation, partner with CODA teams to share insights into PDQ’s product intersections.

We're looking for people who have:

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal. You will be communicating with English-speaking customers and PDQ’s Solutions team located in the United States. Ideal candidates will have some professional experience with written English, as most of our troubleshooting with end users is via email. Collaboration across the company is done via written/IM and verbal/Zoom communications.
  • Cambridge B2 First certification is nice to have, but equivalent spoken and written English experience is fine. You’ll get plenty of practice on this job!
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills – you are going to be a better troubleshooter than most/all of your peers
  • Eager to learn and collaborative - You are the kind of person who, if you don't understand something, will Google it; when you don't know something, you learn it and share it with others
  • Thorough understanding of Windows, Active Directory, DNS, networking, credentials, Group Policy, and LAPS
  • Working knowledge of PDQ Connect, PDQ Deploy, and PDQ Inventory, or similar agentless or agent-based Windows device management platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience with agent-based deployment solutions besides PDQ Connect (SCCM, ConnectWise Automate, Kaseya VSA, Intune, etc.)
  • Expert-level knowledge of how to silently install/deploy Windows applications in a variety of ways outside of using PDQ products
  • Demonstrable experience with security scanning and remediation software (MS Defender, Tenable, Nessus, Rapid7, etc.)
  • Scripting experience using PowerShell (or Bash or Python)
  • Nice to have: Experience using macOS or iOS, even through personal devices.

Tools we use:

  • Zendesk
  • Office 365
  • Slack
  • Linear
  • Notion

Additional details:

Compensation: €1700 – €2200+ monthly net, depending on experience, with compensation distributed in Romanian Lei (RON)

Schedule:

  • Four-day work week (either Mon-Thurs or Tues-Fri as assigned), (36 hours per week, 9 hours per day)
  • Approximately 11AM-8PM EET for the first 2-3 months of training/onboarding, then normal business hours in Romania, with occasional need to work late to collaborate with US-based solutions team
  • Candidate interviews may be scheduled between the hours of 9AM-1PM Mountain Time (6PM-10PM EET).

Benefits:

  • Supplementary health insurance
  • Flexible Paid Time Off + Paid holidays
  • Company laptop and accessories provided by PDQ.
