The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Solution Consultant (Customer Value Engineer) to join our team. In this role, you will bridge product capability and business outcome, working alongside Account Executives, Professional Services leaders, and Customer Value Advisors to architect value delivery from sales cycle through early post-sale execution. In this role, you'll translate customer business challenges into Planview capability maps, define success metrics and value commitments at deal close, and partner with Professional Services to ensure those commitments become real — embedded in the project plan, operationalized in implementation milestones, and measured through adoption and outcomes. You are the technical expert who thinks like a business consultant and understands the operational complexity of delivery — you know not just what Planview can do, but why it matters to your customer's CFO, CIO, or Chief Strategy Officer, and you can design an implementation approach that actually delivers on the promise.

Who are you? A practitioner-consultant with deep technical fluency in work and resource management, portfolio planning, or enterprise agile disciplines, combined with the business acumen to connect product capabilities to measurable customer outcomes. You thrive in conversations that demand both technical depth and strategic context. You're equally comfortable discussing API integrations and organizational change management. You have a track record of working effectively with delivery and implementation teams — translating business outcomes into executable scope and defending both customer commitments and operational realism. This role is built for someone who is intellectually curious about how organizations work, who asks the right diagnostic questions, and who can design proof-of-concept approaches and implementation strategies that build customer conviction around value delivery and make Professional Services' job executable.

You'll play a critical role in helping prospective customers envision how our platform addresses their most pressing business challenges — and then partner with our implementation organization to make that vision a reality.

Work Location: Bangalore or Mumbai

Travel: This role requires you to travel at least 2-3 days a week.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with Account Executives to conduct customer discovery and business impact assessments — translating customer objectives and pain points into a value-centric opportunity narrative
  • Serve as a thought partner to the Sales organization on complex deals requiring business outcome alignment, competitive positioning, or stakeholder consensus- building; bring PS perspective on implementability and timeline realism.
  • Conduct facilitated value workshops and proof-of-concept planning sessions with customer executive sponsors, business process owners, and technical stakeholders, partnering with Professional Services to validate feasibility and build implementation readiness
  • Participate in pre-implementation planning with Professional Services and Customer Value Advisors to ensure the value architecture is embedded in the project plan, success metrics are operationalized, and the CVA enters the account with full context on what was committed and why
  • Act as the bridge between what was promised (value commitments) and what is being built (implementation) — flagging misalignments early and working with PS and Sales to course-correct before implementation risk accumulates
  • Engage with Professional Services leadership on value realization planning — defining how adoption milestones and early utilization patterns will be tracked and reported back to the customer's executive sponsors
  • Serve as a thought partner to the Sales organization on complex deals requiring business outcome alignment, competitive positioning, or stakeholder consensus-building; bring PS perspective on implementability and timeline realism
  • Maintain current knowledge of Planview capabilities, market trends, and customer use cases — continuously building your expertise in specific domains (portfolio management, enterprise agile, value stream management, enterprise architecture, product management) and staying current on implementation patterns and what drives successful value delivery

What You'll Bring

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with work and resource management platforms, or equivalent experience in related domains (enterprise agile, portfolio management, business process management, organizational transformation
  • Demonstrated ability to speak confidently with C-level business stakeholders about organizational capability, process maturity, and business transformation — not just technical implementation
  • Has personally led customer business impact assessments, value proposition development, or proof-of-concept desig
  • Strong business acumen — understands finance, organizational change, and what drives executive decision-making.
  • Ability to translate between technical and business contexts — you can discuss both architecture and strategic outcomes in the same conversation
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills; ability to build customer confidence through clarity and structured thinking
  • Cross-functional collaboration mindset — experience working effectively with implementation, services, and operational teams to translate commitments into executable delivery plans
  • Management consulting (2–4 years), business process improvement, or organizational effectiveness experience a strong plus
  • Certification or demonstrated mastery in a relevant domain (Scaled Agile Framework, portfolio management, value stream management, or organizational agility) a plus

Whether you have some, or all of these, we want to hear from you if you believe your background and experience might be a fit!
