Intro and job overview:

This position will be primarily focused on InfoSec system security engineering and involved in the design, implementation, and maintaining of secure systems in a mixed Linux, Windows and Azure environment as well as implementing a vulnerability management program. This position will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure new and existing security requirements are being met.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure systems and networks in a mixed Windows, Linux and Azure development environment.
  • Perform vulnerability and risk assessments to identify and prioritize potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement security measures, policies, and procedures to protect systems and networks against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security incidents.
  • Monitor and analyze security logs and events, and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Conduct security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry best practices, and organizational security policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that security requirements are incorporated into system and network design, development, and implementation processes.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to IT and network engineering teams to ensure that security controls are effectively implemented and maintained.
  • Stay updated on the latest security threats, technologies, and industry trends, and provide recommendations for improving security posture.
  • Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery efforts, as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience is required for this role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in place of the education requirement.
  • Relevant professional certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or other security certifications.
  • Experience installing, administering, and supporting Windows and Linux operating systems in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong knowledge of security principles, best practices, and industry standards, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Critical Security Controls.
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment on moderate to highly complex issues.
  • Experience with risk assessment and incident response methodologies.
  • Knowledge of software design principles, operating system design, database concepts is preferred.
  • Microsoft AZ-500 Azure Security Engineer Associate certification is preferred.
