Intro and job overview:

Your role as a Senior Software Engineer is to work with engineering teams and architecture to produce high-quality technology solutions. You will be given the autonomy to lead, design and develop innovative solutions to some of the biggest technical issues customer’s face. As Senior Software Engineer, you will serve as a peer-leader tasked with pursuing cutting-edge initiatives and solutions. The breadth of Precisely ensures a diversity of projects as the company pivots towards innovation and customer experience.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Serving as a peer-leader, encouraging a culture of innovation and accountability while adhering to Agile best practices
  • Designing, modifying, developing, and implementing software solutions. Building modern, architecturally sound components, tools, and applications to meet mission-driven strategic business goals.
  • Participating in an environment rapidly transforming to the Agile methodology, adhering to best practices, and collaborating effectively with your teammates.
  • Infusing quality of service characteristics, such as scalability, manageability, and maintainability, into distributed service-based framework to create or expand business or technical capabilities.
  • Employing industry best practices to evaluate, correct and prevent vulnerabilities during the software development process.
  • Designing, modifying, developing, and implementing software solutions. Building modern, architecturally sound components, tools, and applications to meet mission-driven strategic business goals.
  • Leads others to solve complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions; recommends optimal solution based on resolving trade-offs. Lead design reviews, recommends best practices to clients
  • Collaborating and contributing insight to solution design ideation, ensuring both the success of the product and adherence to enterprise architecture principles.
  • Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view. Accepts feedback and puts in improvement plans.
  • Understands the business we work in and suggests product features that can drive business growth. Strong domain knowledge to be able to lead project teams with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree Computer Science or related degree.
  • Mastery, Java, XML, SQL, RPG and PC Skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with IBM i (AS/400) and security concepts.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and demonstrated the ability to lead and mentor software engineers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the goal to provide the best experience to our customers.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic when working with difficult problems and tight deadlines.
  • A strong desire to learn new technology and the ability to understand new concepts quickly.
  • Understanding of software design principals, software development lifecycle, system design, networking architecture, and database systems and concepts.
