PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Technical Architect to join our Engage business. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of modern communication industry product used across the globe. This position is perfect for someone with a strong AI background who is an excellent communicator and thought leader as well as a focussed contributor.

You will:

  • Be part of an architecture team, that provide guidance for AI approaches, architectural patterns, microservices and cloud implementation.
  • Work with teams and stakeholders to increase understanding of AI approaches and challenges.
  • Mentor development staff across multiple geographies to increase knowledge of modern approaches.
  • Support and review code to ensure best practises are followed.
  • Recommend, decide and implement new tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Collaborate with agile development teams to align long-term strategies for architecture.
  • Be able to communicate effectively at multiple levels including contributors, stakeholders, and senior management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Other duties may be assigned

  • Designing feature implementations (30%)
  • Creating proof of concept projects (30%)
  • Providing strategic direction to stakeholders (10%)
  • Mentoring team members (10%)
  • Reviewing implementations (10%)

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program pursuing a relevant major.
  • Production of experience of two programming languages with one of these being either Java or Python.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including excellent critical thinking and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with teams and stakeholders to increase understanding of AI approaches and challenges.
  • Proven record of mentoring development staff across multiple geographies to increase knowledge of modern approaches.
  • A desire to support and review code to ensure best practices are followed.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience of cloud deployments demonstrated through recent commercial examples.
  • Experience with microservice design and patterns.
  • Experience in a high volume, high throughput web/ecommerce environment.
  • Experience working with agile (scrum) teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis abilities.
  • Experience working with large enterprise clients.
