What You Will Do:

The Operations Manager will report ­­­­­­­­­to the CTO, responsible for R&D.

The role includes supporting the CTO and the R&D management team by ensuring the smooth governance of meetings, strategic projects, and communications across various stakeholders. The role also oversees event management, vendor relations, and the successful implementation of training programmes, fostering team development and engagement. This will include liaising with HR, Marketing, Finance and Product Management as well as external stakeholders.

A crucial part of the role is to drive organisational efficiency and strategic alignment through effective governance, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder engagement, while ensuring continuous team development and supporting leadership in key initiatives.

Additionally, this person will be responsible for:

· Ensure effective governance of R&D and CTO-related meetings, including agenda creation, cross-departmental collaboration, and timely follow-ups.

· Produce high-quality materials for the CTO, including documents, presentations, and strategic messaging.

· Oversee vendor management, acting as the point of contact for vendor relationships, including onboarding new vendors, tracking contract terms, raising purchase orders, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

· Lead strategic projects in partnership with the CTO, providing comprehensive research, planning, and execution support.

· Facilitate internal and external communications, such as town halls, newsletters, and intranet updates, ensuring consistent messaging across platforms.

· Support the R&D Management Team with event and outreach management, including organising offsite events and coordinating with marketing and other departments on PR and outreach initiatives.

· Enhance team performance and engagement by developing and implementing a structured training and development programme, in coordination with the HR and Talent Development team, to support growth and skills development.

· Undertake ad hoc tasks as required, providing flexible support to the CTO and the R&D team to ensure smooth operations.

The role requires an individual with strong experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration, along with a solid understanding of stakeholder communication at both operational and executive levels. The role holder will need excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Experience/Knowledge You Will Need:

The candidate should ideally have the following knowledge and experience:

Essential:

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and develop relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously, including scheduling, meeting governance, and event coordination.
  • Project Management: Experience in leading and supporting strategic projects, including research, planning, and execution.
  • Internal and External Communications: Proficient in managing communications across various levels of the organisation, from team members to high-level executives, and skilled in handling diverse stakeholder needs.
  • Training and Development: Responsible for supervising and ensuring the successful implementation of training programmes, tracking team needs, and addressing development opportunities.
  • Adaptability: Flexible and responsive to changing needs, with the ability to undertake ad hoc tasks and support various aspects of the role as required.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and thoroughness in producing documents, presentations, and managing tasks.

Desirable:

Experience in event planning and coordination, including cross-departmental outreach.

Familiarity with vendor management processes, including contract tracking and compliance.

Knowledge of R&D or technology-related environments.

Familiarity with tools and platforms for internal communications and project management.
