Job Description:

Role Summary

The position will predominantly focus on looking after a key UK orientated wealth management client which has offices in France, Spain, Portugal, Cyprus and Malta. This includes facilitating the promotion and distribution of Russell Investments funds, products and services. A key focus will be product and client diversification, product profitability and delivering excellent customer service. The role will be based in the London office with a requirement for extensive European travel. The expectation is that the post holder will visit key client sites across Europe on an annual basis (circa 12-16 weeks per year), attending co-hosted seminar events. This role may also involve serving UK based Independent Financial Advisors. This includes facilitating the promotion and distribution of Russell Investments funds, products and services.

Working as part of a team that provides dedicated adviser support in a fast moving environment, the individual will need to be flexible and have the ability to problem solve, influencing other teams within the business to deliver positive and timely client outcomes.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

Regulatory & Business conduct

Assisting in developing profitable client relationships with UK wholesale clients

  • Developing relationships in the UK retail market.

  • Working with Rating Agencies to deliver fund endorsements.

Being compliant and working within the UK regulatory framework

  • Understanding the requirements of the UK regulatory environment and applying them diligently in the course of day to day interactions with clients via all communication mediums.

  • Working within the internal risk structure of Russell Investments, maintaining accurate records and staying abreast of both Company and industry developments.

Assisting in the development and execution of a UK retail marketing plan to support wholesale distribution.

  • Understanding the needs of clients and translating these requirements into an effective marketing plan with the support of the Marketing team.

  • Delivering presentations and workshops to professional investors.

  • Supporting all Company-wide marketing initiatives.

Supporting the maintenance and development of a suite of compelling products for the wholesale market.

  • Understanding the needs of clients and translating and prioritising these requirements with the Product Development team and with colleagues.

  • Supporting all Company-wide product launches and initiatives.

Maintaining accurate records of all interactions and market intelligence

  • Using the professional CRM system to maintain accurate client records and demonstrate effective practice management.

Providing support to wealth managers and other financial intermediaries

  • Fielding ad hoc requests from retail clients and coordinating with other associates inside and outside the UK Client team to respond to these requests.

  • Supporting the rest of the UK Client team to produce ad-hoc reports or illustrative data to respond to client queries and support sales efforts

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

  • IMC/CFA qualification or progress towards is desired.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related technical field or equivalent experience / qualification is needed.

  • Experience of working with IFAs in a sales-oriented role required.

  • Experience of working for an Asset Manager in the retail space is preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge of UK retail market required.

  • Wide investment knowledge with excellent understanding of Mutual Funds and Investment strategies required.

  • The ability to communicate effectively and knowledgeably with both colleagues and prospective clients.

  • Highly polished communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.

  • Close working knowledge of the practical needs and experiences of pensions, present and future, of the UK institutional marketplace.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of all major asset classes, with the ability to articulate investment processes knowledgeably and credibly.

  • Promotes and facilitates the work of a group as well as contributing as a productive member of the team.

  • Works effectively with people from a range of different backgrounds.

  • Able to act quickly and accurately to identify and analyse relevant information regarding work tasks.

  • Makes accurate use of logic and considers all relevant factors to make rational, realistic and sound decisions.
