Job Description:

The SQL Database Supervisor is responsible for the administration of SQL Server databases and supervising a team in Mumbai. This includes tasks such as creating and maintaining databases, managing user permissions, troubleshooting performance issues, and ensuring database security and compliance. You will also work with other IT staff to implement new database technologies and to improve the performance and efficiency of existing databases.

Years of Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in SQL Server administration

Qualifications

  • Tech lead experience/management skills preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field

  • Strong understanding of SQL

  • Experience with database design and development

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Mentor others on the team, help guide and advise as necessary.
  • Liaise with Manager on building a high performing team and managing performance.
  • Assist with the interviewing and selection of teammates

  • Create and maintain SQL Server databases

  • Write and Optimize t-SQL query

  • Troubleshoot performance issues

  • Ensure database security and compliance

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest SQL Server technologies

  • Implement new database technologies

  • Improve the performance and efficiency of existing databases

  • Mentor and train junior database administrators

  • Work with other IT staff to develop and implement database security policies and procedures

  • Develop and maintain database documentation

  • Perform disaster recovery and business continuity planning for databases

Candidate Requirements

  • PowerShell, Python and Shell command are an asset

  • Experience working with MongoDB and Oracle Administration is an asset
