Role Summary

The role involves working with existing Russell Investments’ clients or prospects in the design, implementation and maintenance of investment solutions using Russell Investments’ range of services. This includes the provision of strategic investment advice to institutional investors in Continental Europe, with a focus on the Benelux and DACH region, covering the full investment decision process: governance, strategic asset allocation, manager structure, selection and monitoring. It also involves finding implemented solutions for clients through the use of existing fund management products, or through the design of new fund management products. The Manager will interact extensively with other departments in the Company (including Investment Department) to provide the investment solutions described above for the client. Ultimately the position is expected to contribute significantly to Russell Investments’ new business growth in the EMEA region.

This role will operate from the Dutch Branch of Russell Investments Ireland Limited.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

Regulatory & business conduct

  • Displaying exemplary conduct and living by our organisations Code of Conduct.

  • Effectively and collaboratively identifying, escalating, mitigating and resolving risk, conduct and compliance.

Client servicing

  • Operating as the key fiduciary contact person for assigned clients.

  • Responsible for strategic investment advice, solution development, relationship management and cross selling.

  • Working with the Investment Department, Client Services and other teams in order to deliver the services in the most efficient and effective way.

Business development

  • Playing an active role in the sales process in Northern Europe and supporting the institutional sales team in positioning Russell Investments as the lead Multi Asset/Fiduciary provider in the Benelux & DACH region.

Knowledge & development sharing

  • Continued personal professional development.

  • Maintaining an understanding of current themes and developments in the investment industry and sharing these with the team (regulation, new products, competition, etc).

  • Writing articles in magazines, to position Russell Investments as one of the champion league Fiduciary players in the region.

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent skills / qualification.

  • Relevant work experience / extensive hands-on experience in similar roles.

  • CFA qualification preferable.

  • Client service and management experience preferable.

  • Investment and risk management knowledge required.

  • Fluent in Dutch (is highly preferred) and English (essential)

  • The ability to communicate effectively and knowledgeably with both colleagues and prospective clients.

  • Highly polished communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.

  • Close working knowledge of the practical needs and experiences of pensions, present and future, of the Benelux and DACH marketplace.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of all major asset classes, with the ability to articulate investment processes knowledgeably and credibly.
