Job Description:

The Storage Engineer II is a technical support role responsible for managing and supporting Russell Investments’ block and file storage environments. This role directly supports critical storage systems across all global Russell Investments’ data centers. The Storage Engineer II partners with leadership in Seattle, WA. Technical knowledge and experience supporting Dell EMC Powerscale and Unity SAN devices are essential.

Years of Experience

5 years of relevant industry experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business or Engineering. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education.

  • Dell EMC Powerscale (Isilon) troubleshooting and support at an L2 level.

  • Dell EMC Unity troubleshooting and support at an L2 level.

  • Experience with zoning Cisco MDS Switches

  • Experience in IT service delivery using the ITIL framework

  • Ability to communicate complex technical details to all levels of management

  • Expertise in understanding, setting, and managing customer expectations

  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to set shifting priorities to meet deadlines

  • Ability to understand and solve complex problems quickly

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day operational support and maintenance (including patching and upgrading) of the storage environments

  • Maintains detailed documentation and inventory of all managed environments

  • Responsible for timely on-call response to incidents

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company data without exception

  • Maintain an instant and trending view of the health of the infrastructure

  • Participate in other IT projects and/or tasks as needed
