Job Description:

Russell Investments is seeking a highly motivated Product Analyst to join the Global Product team. The mandate of the Product team is two-fold: 1) to understand evolving client needs and bring our investment expertise into product structures (e.g. mutual funds) that address those needs, and 2) to manage and commercialize an extensive product line across North America, EMEA, and APAC. This role will require the successful candidate to provide research and data/analytical support on a wide variety of projects including assessments of products, competitors, new markets and client segments. The individual should be a power user of MS Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to analyze, visualize, and communicate insights in a compelling manner. The ideal candidate would be reliable, personable, and team-oriented with an exceptional worth ethic, intellectual curiosity, and drive to take on new responsibilities and learn new subject matter. Knowledge of data sources and databases in asset management (e.g. Morningstar, eVestments, Broadridge, Pitchbook) and their idiosyncrasies are a big plus. This individual will work with stakeholders across the firm globally including with sales distribution (Go-To-Market), the investment division, and finance.

Years of Experience

Product Analyst – 2-3 years of experience

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the asset management industry and investment products
  • Familiarity with some of the commonly used data sources and databases in asset management (e.g. Morningstar, eVestments, Broadridge, Pitchbook) desired.
  • Familiarity with visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau desired.
  • CFA designation or an interest in obtaining one desired.

Responsibilities

  • Support strategic and tactical product initiatives with research and data/analytical support, synthesize findings with compelling visuals in presentations.
  • Partner with domain experts on the product team and across the business to deeply understand the problem, develop hypotheses, and a research and data/analytic approach to address the problem.

Candidate Requirements

  • MS Excel and PowerPoint power user.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong research skills – ability to use publicly available and propriety sources to research topics and synthesize findings.
  • Intellectual curiosity, collaborative working style, and reliability are a must.
