Job Description:

This leadership position will be responsible for the planning, reporting and analysis of financial information and projects relevant to the global Go-To-Market (GTM) teams at Russell. The Business Finance Director will interact with all levels of management at Russell, especially senior leaders within the business area, and provide accurate, timely, relevant data to create value-added insights and influence decisions. The Business Finance Director will lead a team of managers and analysts within the Corporate Finance Financial Planning and Analysis group, who together as a team will partner across the Finance department and multiple functional areas to help drive strategic and tactical business decisions.

Salary Range: $170,000 to $200,000

Specific compensation will be based on candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, commercial considerations, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Sr. Management within the Business Unit (BU) to provide full service financial support and act as liaison to Corporate Finance.
  • Oversight of management reporting records used by Sr. BU Management, e.g. financial variance analysis, business metrics.
  • Ongoing monitoring of financial performance results and communication of insightful and actionable analysis to GTM business unit leadership and management.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to leadership based upon analysis, competitive benchmarking and emerging trends.
  • Provide financial modeling support to analyze/forecast economic viability of new products/business initiatives.
  • Lead transformational projects impacting organizational efficiency, workflow automation and consistency of global key performance indicators
  • Engagement and support of financial related reports and information for regulated investment pools and associated independent board of trustees
  • Ownership and oversight of client and product pricing decisions including formulation and governance of product rate cards impacting Russell’s global institutional business lines

Leadership & Management

  • Manage the Global GTM FP&A team by providing performance feedback and connecting goal-setting with overall strategy and vision; conducting annual performance assessments, talent reviews, and skill development and training.
  • Executes strategic vision with focus and pragmatism
  • Create a culture of innovation and responsiveness to the business and for the business
  • Maintain a successful relationship with business leaders across Russell Investments
  • Lead and facilitate the development of a service and success-oriented culture that strives for continuous improvement and connection with business needs.
  • Assess the current organizational structure and evaluate and redesign the team as needed to best align capabilities with anticipated outcomes.

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 10 + years of financial analysis experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • 5 + years experience managing high performing analytical teams within the financial services industry.
  • Ability to conceptualize and determine best solution and implementation approach.
  • Experience working with and presenting analysis / findings to Sr. Management.
  • Process oriented mindset.
  • Deep business specific knowledge; strong business acumen.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with senior executives and management to influence solutions and provide guidance.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to execute sound judgment.
  • Ability to organize and manage projects; manage conflicting priorities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
