Job Description:

You will be primarily responsible for the coordination of operational functions of the US mutual fund complexes, including preparation of Board and regulatory materials, and some client service support to Russell Investments’ Advisory Intermediary Services and Legal. You will also serve as a back-up contact for various daily operational functions including product/account communications, financial reporting and fund valuation tasks as well as investment manager oversight.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000

Specific compensation will be based on candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, commercial considerations, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Your Core Responsibilities:

Regulatory Reporting:

  • Prepare and review regulatory filings, including annual prospectus and SAI updates in addition to review of the quarterly financial reporting filings.
  • Assist in the management and development and/or review of all required regulatory documents across Investment Division and coordinate with other Russell business units (Legal, Compliance, Operations).

Board Reporting:

  • Serve as a back-up to the US mutual fund Board and subcommittee preparation process including the creation and/or review all required materials across multiple impacted Investment Division and business units (Portfolio Management, Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, and Operations).
  • Prepare and review components of Fund Administration quarterly and annual contract review (15(c) meeting) US mutual fund Board reporting.

Other:

  • Serve as resource for Investment Division, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and other business units for any questions/issues that arise. Assist Asset Class CIO’s, Risk Management, Compliance and Legal in communicating requirements and responsibilities to Portfolio Management.
  • Assist with the coordination, preparation, and review of the financial statements for which the Fund Complex Team is responsible. Involves coordination with Portfolio Management, Legal, Investment Division and the auditors.
  • Manage Fund Complex product initiatives such as new fund launches, mergers, closures, and fund strategy changes. Coordinate with business unit, Legal, and Investment Division on impact of such initiatives.
  • Actively support client service role to AIS, Legal, and the Investment Division.
  • Assist in supporting the manager oversight function as related to manager transitions, foreign registration and maintenance of the database used for audit purposes (ISDA and broker account data).

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience preferred.
  • Work efficiently under pressure with minimal supervision; ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Project management experience; strong organization skills.
  • Efficiency with Microsoft Office products and overall aptitude for utilizing technology to assist with business processing.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and facility with numbers
  • Ability to work collaboratively with associates at all levels and across multiple business units.
  • Excellent client service skills; superior written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a highly functioning team.
  • Demonstrated ability to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.
  • Solves and analyzes problems effectively, with a process for decision making.
  • Evaluates problems via systems thinking, sees downstream affects, identifies future implications across a process to help prioritize solutions.
