Job Description:
The Operational Due Diligence (“ODD”) Analyst will assist with conducting operational due diligence assessments on investment managers, including discretionary and EPI assignments, and enhancing the ODD process and procedures.
The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:
- Facilitate and assist in organizing ODD reviews.
- Obtain and review documentation including regulatory filings, marketing material, due diligence questionnaires, as well as operations, compliance, trading, and valuation policies and procedures prior to investment or as part of ongoing monitoring.
- Evaluate business, compliance, and operational risks associated with traditional investment managers relative to the scope of the Global Manager Operational Due Diligence (GMODD) program requirements by conducting desktop reviews of investment managers globally.
- Draft operational due diligence reports and present detailed results, findings, and recommendations to support conclusions.
- Raise and escalate to the GMOOD Director and Senior ODD Analyst issues identified during the review and interface with the GMODD Team members. Communicate summary conclusions to GMODD Team members and follow up with investment managers on any recommendations or risk findings, as needed.
- Ensure records management/data systems are maintained and up to date.
- Contribute to enhancements of the Russell Investments’ operational due diligence program.
- Support the GMODD Director and Senior ODD Analyst with Board and Committee reporting responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required.
- 2-4 + years of industry experience (in operational due diligence, research, compliance, risk or operations role at either an investment management firm, investment consulting firm, or large asset allocator).
- Technology skills, including strong proficiency with excel and comfort with database applications are required.
- Knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Macros and SQL, Power BI are required.
- Experience and knowledge of DiligenceVault platform preferred.
- Familiarity with various global regulatory and compliance regimes, rules, and regulations preferred.
- Ability to articulate concerns/issues effectively to internal teams.
- Demonstrated initiative to work independently and engage in execution of responsibilities while collaborating with a global team.
- Efficient time management skills with ability to work to tight deadlines are required.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be a team player.
