As a core member of the deal team and working in close contact with both the President and CEO of the firm, this individual will help target strategic partnerships and transactions in the FIG space – in particular US-based asset managers, insurers, and wealth platforms.

The individual will bring an analytical mindset across three key areas of responsibility:

  • Deal analysis, including financial modelling and commercial structuring for identified opportunities & transactions
  • Strategy, including identifying opportunities for growth (both organic and inorganic) within new & existing FIG channels
  • External engagement, including stakeholders linked to those opportunities and corporate Board members

The position will be located in New York and offers a hybrid working model of 3 days a week in office.

Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Extensive financial modeling for live deals and transactions.
  • Preparation of pitch decks and strategic proposals for live transactions, including cross-functional engagement with a broader deal team including Investments, Legal, and Product to vet ideas and proposals.
  • Research and identification of new opportunities within both new and existing FIG channels, including market sizing, due diligence, and competitive appraisal.
  • Presentation of growth ideas to key internal stakeholders such as the President and CEO.
  • Engagement with external stakeholders such as strategic partners and corporate Board members.

Your Expertise:

  • 1-2 years of experience working in a deal-oriented role in either investment banking, M&A, private equity, corporate strategy, corporate finance or insurance (preferably in FIG and/or related teams). An actuarial background would also be a plus.
  • Experience and comfort working with Excel and a passion for financial modelling, including strong quantitative skills, an eye for mathematical precision, and ability to credibly audit one’s own work.
  • Experience working with PowerPoint and creating/fine-tuning external pitch decks and presentations.
  • Strong communication skills, able to present findings credibly and effectively.
  • Hunger to work in a fast-paced, transaction-based environment across multiple time zones; ability to pivot quickly across multiple workstreams and go above and beyond.
  • Keen interest in the FIG and insurance sector.
  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in either Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics or a similar science-based major from a top-tier university.
