Job Description:

As the Director of Marketing Operations, you will be responsible for leading the global marketing operations function, including the management of the marketing technology stack, process optimization, budget oversight, and providing on the ground leadership for a team of ~20 marketing professionals who directly support the global marketing team. This role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of marketing technologies, operational excellence, and a strategic mindset to drive efficiency and effectiveness across the marketing organization. Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating and aligning marketing operations across multiple regions to ensure a cohesive global approach that helps drive the success of the global marketing team’s initiatives.

Years of Experience

  • 10+ years in marketing within financial services, with 5 years + in a senior management position, leading a team.
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing operations, with a proven track record of managing marketing technology stacks and optimizing processes.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or operations management
  • Strong understanding of marketing technologies, workflow management, data analytics, and budget management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Marketing Technology Stack Management:
    • Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of marketing technologies to support the overall marketing strategy.
    • Ensure integration, alignment, and usage of marketing technologies with other systems and platforms within the organization.
    • Stay updated on emerging marketing technologies and trends to keep the company ahead of the curve.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Develop, implement, and continuously improve marketing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
    • Establish and maintain documentation for marketing processes and best practices.
  • Budget Oversight:
    • Develop and manage the marketing operations budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
    • Monitor and report on marketing spend and ROI, providing insights and recommendations for budget adjustments.
    • Work with finance and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial forecasting and reporting.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing operations team.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation within the team.
    • Provide regular performance feedback and support the professional growth of team members.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with the marketing leadership team to align marketing operations with overall global marketing and business goals.
    • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between marketing operations and other departments, such as procurement, IT, and finance.
    • Represent the marketing operations function in meetings and strategic planning sessions.

Candidate Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in marketing operations, analytics, and/or digital management.
  • Experienced manager, with a minimum of 5+ years leading a multi-discipline team of 15 + (preferred) marketing professionals covering SEO, web analytics, data management, web and desktop publishing, marketing design, and production.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to build high performing teams through the coaching and development of employees, as well as effectively managing underperformance through coaching, on the job training, feedback, and formal performance management approaches where required.
  • Previous experience of working effectively in a highly matrixed global operating environment.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with a proven track record for meeting tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, including data presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to get the root cause of complex issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with previous experience of identifying and implementing process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications and experienced with project management tools (e.g. Adobe Workfront)
  • Hands on experience with content management platforms (e.g. Sitecore and Seismic), analytics tools (e.g. Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI, and Google Tag Manager), SEO tools, and other marketing technology platforms preferred.
