Salary Range:

$70,000 USD - $80,000 USD

Specific compensation will be based on candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, commercial considerations, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Job Description:

The Portfolio Analyst role is an opportunity to fully immerse your career into capital markets and to join a team managing billions in multi-asset class portfolios. The Overlay Services team utilizes a variety of instruments (primarily derivatives such as futures, forwards, swaps, and options) to deliver investment solutions to pension clients globally. This position is a gateway to cultivating strong relationships with portfolio managers, directly engaging with clients, and diving deep into the latest financial technologies. You’ll also collaborate with diverse teams across the organization, opening doors to various career paths such as Portfolio Management, Research, Trading, and Sales.

Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Market Analysis & Data Management: Begin each day by analyzing client positions relative to policy targets, forming the foundation for strategic trading decisions. You’ll navigate through custodian systems, Bloomberg, and data vendor platforms to retrieve and verify critical data, ensuring accuracy by working closely with investment managers, custodian banks, brokers, and internal operations teams.
  • Portfolio Implementation & Client Engagement: Assist the Portfolio Management team in executing portfolio adjustments and exploring new investment strategies. You’ll be involved in performance calculations, reporting, reconciliations, and model population. The role also includes responding to ad-hoc client requests, delivering updates, and providing comprehensive investment reporting and client services.
  • Process Enhancement & Technology Integration: Drive continuous improvement by enhancing the investment process to support a growing client base. Collaborate with technology teams on process optimization and spearhead projects that elevate efficiency and scalability. You’ll also advocate for best practices in workflows, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Team Collaboration & Leadership: Foster a culture of teamwork and high engagement by participating in team projects, ensuring accuracy, and mentoring new team members. Your contributions will be crucial in maintaining a cohesive and knowledgeable team.
  • Global Market Coverage: All analysts are expected to start at 6 am PST to align with global market hours, with work on most holidays being a requirement.

Your Expertise:

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in investments, with knowledge of portfolio accounting, investment operations.
  • Credentials: Active pursuit of CFA, CAIA, or MBA credentials is highly desirable.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-Motivation: A self-starter with a knack for independent problem-solving.
  • Analytical Precision: Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and accuracy in working with numbers.
  • Organizational Excellence: Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, even with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and often unstructured environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in SQL/Python is a plus. Skilled in Windows-based applications, with experience in database applications and portfolio management systems.
