Salary Range:
$250,000 USD - $280,000 USDSpecific compensation will be based on candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, commercial considerations, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Enterprise Data Management to lead our technology data management team. This leader will be responsible for shaping and managing our enterprise data management strategy and architecture with a focus on the Modern Data Cloud, while ensuring collaboration with the Data Governance group for data integrity, security, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have experience with relevant technologies, managing remote teams, and a strong background in financial services industry.
Years of Experience
- 10-15+ years of technology leadership experience in the enterprise data management space.
- 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
- 5+ years of experience as a senior manager and change agent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the global Enterprise Data Management team, promoting a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise data solutions, including data warehousing, data integration, data modeling, data cloud, and data analytics platforms, proving unobstructed access to facilitate data-driven decision making and advanced predictive analytics.
- Drive the effective use of Snowflake or Databricks for cloud-based data management, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Implement and optimize DBT models for data transformation and business logic implementation.
- Implement and optimize and ETL or ELT tool for seamless integration.
- Implement and optimize our overnight scheduler and file transfers to improve and maintain our internal SLAs.
- Work closely with the Data Governance team to ensure compliance with data policies, regulations, and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product management, analytics, etc.) to align data initiatives with business objectives and enable data-driven decision-making.
- Implement data management strategies leveraging ETL/ELT tools, data catalogs, and data quality tools to ensure reliable and accurate data pipelines.
- Evaluate and implement data analytics and data science platforms, including Tableau and Microsoft PowerBI and the like.
- Evaluate emerging data technologies, including Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, and Databricks, to improve existing data management processes.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of data management and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage budget, resources, and vendor relationships related to enterprise data management tools and services.
- Partner on the selection, implementation, and management of marketing technology vendors or tools (e.g., CRM, marketing automation, analytics platforms, content management systems (CMS)) to drive efficiency and scale.
- Oversee the cost optimization in data storage and processing, partnering with the global finance organization.
- A strategic partner and subject matter expert in consulting and advising business partners on data management solutions.
- Serves as a liaison between the business and technology teams to build and implement core data management solutions.
- Oversee the integration of data from diverse internal and external sources to create a unified data environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in enterprise data management, with expertise in Snowflake architecture and implementation.
- Proven leadership experience, including managing remote teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, data privacy laws, Cyber security controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency with ETL/ELT tools, data catalog, and data quality tools, including FiveTran, Dbt, Airbyte, Altan DataDog, Monte Carlo is a plus.
- Experience in the financial services industry is required. Institutional Asset Management is preferred.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to innovate and drive improvements in data processes is required.
- Experience with a major cloud data platforms (e.g., Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure) is required.
- Hands-on experience implementing Python at scale is a plus.
- Certification in Snowflake or relevant data management technologies is a plus.
- Real-world experience with Generative AI is a plus.
