Job Description:
Role Summary
The Onboarding Operations team supports new client and solutions onboarding implementations, changes to existing portfolio structures and account setup of Russell Investments’ global client base and product lineup.
The Associate Manager, Onboarding Operations leads implementation and a team responsible for managing and coordinating new client onboarding, product launches, changes to strategies, sub-advisors, and structures to portfolios. Additionally, this role is responsible for internal and external account setup across all managed and traded instrument types.
This role manages complex, cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment among operations, sales, product, legal, compliance, and other internal stakeholders. The position requires strong project management skills, effective communication, and the ability to foster collaboration to deliver successful onboarding and implementation outcomes.
Your Core Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of onboarding professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
Work with the project owner to define project goals, identify requirements, assign resources, create timelines and periodic communication of project status.
Create project plans/timelines and communicate to key stakeholders. Gather all project information: schedules, data requests, assignments, tasks, and project meetings.
Lead project meetings through the implementation lifecycle (plan – implement – close), ensure project deadlines and deliverables are met, identify & escalate issues or bottlenecks and coordinate issue resolution efforts.
Define, measure and communicate various key metrics related to process, programs and products.
Influence timelines, expectations, and proactively negotiates across departments and functional management.
Follow team best practices for use of project management tools and techniques
Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
Identify risks and issues and implement mitigation strategies to ensure program success.
Establishing credit to trade foreign exchange (FX) spot and forward transactions with counterparty banks
Operational setup of ABOR, IBOR, equity, fixed income, exchange traded and over-the-counter derivative (including foreign exchange) accounts within internal and external systems and platforms
Driving efficiencies in the onboarding processes across all instrument types
Your Expertise:
Bachelor's degree preferably in finance, economics, or business administration
8+ years of experience working in the financial/investment management sector strongly preferred
Demonstrate strong relationship-building skills and ability to influence colleagues at all levels of an organization.
Project management experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and direct multiple projects and activities with varied deadlines; utilize sound judgment; be strategic thinker
Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and tight timelines
Excellent attention to detail and collaborative project coordination skills
Ability to communicate technical concepts and ideas; Ability to communicate effectively with several types and levels of associates and external contacts
Organized, analytical and detail-oriented, with a solid understanding of the securities/fund industry, as well as investment concepts and strategies
Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including many departments within the business and IT.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and comfort with database applications
