Job Description:
As a Research and Development team member, this role will involve productionalizing and maintenance of the investment and risk models, signals, and analytical platforms across several asset classes that cater to multiple Russell Investments teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong investment knowledge base, coupled with an adept understanding of coding and quantitative analysis.
Years of Experience
Suitable candidates would have 1-3 years of programming (quant modelling)/investment experience. The candidate should be passionate about developing a career in the quantitative research space in the financial services industry.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
CFA charter or progress thereof preferred.
Solid understanding of investment principles and asset classes (Fixed Income, Equity and or FX)
Proficient in Python and SQL with ability to develop code that is scalable, and efficient.
Ability and strong willingness to fully leverage the power of AI in automating and making day to day tasks more efficient.
Knowledge of Machine Learning techniques will be useful.
Experience with DevOps toolkit (GitLab, Octopus Deploy) is a plus
Strong quantitative skill set with the ability to analyse complex data.
Excellent problem-solving capabilities and high attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of data visualization and web frameworks (e.g., Django) will be a plus.

Responsibilities
Supporting and developing our Python and SQL research code infrastructure and models.
Portfolio construction and backtesting research
Assisting other team members on research projects
Ad-hoc data analysis: respond to spontaneous requests from stakeholders for specific data insights or reports, present results in a clear and concise manner
Maintaining and monitoring automated model generation
Development and maintenance of databases and analytics dashboards to support research efforts
