Job Description:

As part of our continued efforts to strengthen risk management practices, Russell Investments is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Analyst, Operational Risk with strong project management and communication capabilities to join our Operational Risk Management team.

As a member of the Operational Risk team, you’ll be part of a collaborative and purpose-driven team that values integrity, innovation, and impact. This role is responsible for overseeing the investment governance process, including the administration of the Investment Strategy Committee (ISC) and related committees. This role blends core risk management responsibilities with hands-on project management, offering a unique opportunity to shape and strengthen our operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage annual insurance application process and related support including Russell Investments’ insurance narrative, supporting schedules required the various policies covering multiple renewal cycles.

  • Support the SOC1 audit engagement and certification process.

  • Support operational risk activities, including risk assessments, control documentation and testing, event analysis, and remediation tracking.

  • Develop and maintain training materials and guidance to support operational risk management program.

  • Deliver high-quality risk reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including senior and executive leadership.

  • Support broader Operational Risk initiatives, including program enhancements, risk assessments, and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline

  • 3–5 years of experience in financial services, with exposure to asset management, operational risk, internal/external audit, and/or project management

Skills & Competencies

  • Proven ability to execute and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Demonstrated success managing complex, cross-functional projects end to end (initiation through delivery), ideally within a risk, audit, or compliance environment.

  • Proven effective communication skills, negotiation techniques, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and strategic context

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, build consensus, and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights

  • Proactive, self-driven approach to prioritization, multitasking, and continuous improvement

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Familiarity with GRC platforms such as MetricStream is a plus.
