Job Description:

Role Summary

The role of the Senior Investment Content Writer is to provide globally accessible analysis and reporting communications to Russell Investment’s multiple client bases. This role includes a range of key tasks essential to the smooth and effective running of reporting and communications in the Asia Pacific business. The Investment Content Writer will sit in a small team of investment communications specialists.

The Senior Investment Content Writer will develop an in-depth understanding of Russell Investments' fund ranges, investment strategies, portfolio construction and market views. The role combines investment analysis, performance reporting and content creation to support client engagement, sales, marketing and investment communications initiatives. A keen interest in and knowledge of financial markets is essential. This role requires close liaison with the Investment Management & Research and Investor Services teams and provides day-to-day exposure to the business.

Years of Experience

5 - 7 years of experience in a similar role preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preference in Finance, Economics, Business Management, Communications or similar discipline).

  • Relevant investment writing or proven financial journalistic skills.

  • Knowledge of financial markets, investment funds and financial products.

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written). Ability to communicate effectively to a range of audiences and through different mediums.

  • Excellent research skills and ability to interpret statistical information to support written statements.

  • Strong writing skills, excellent communication and relationship building skills and the ability to create high quality content from scratch under pressure to tight deadlines.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Proficiency at prioritisation, proven experience with managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and the ability to operate under scheduled deadlines.

  • Uncovers and meets the needs of both internal and external clients.

  • Acts with urgency and works hard to address client demands.

  • Effectively manages client expectations and delivers value-added collateral.

Responsibilities

  • Produce coherent, concise investment commentaries on a range of asset classes including (but not limited to) international and Australian equities and bonds, international property and global listed infrastructure and multi-asset funds. This will involve analysing complex data, liaising closely with the Portfolio Managers and Analysts in the Investment Division and keeping up to date with news of what is happening in the markets and Russell funds for which they are responsible. They will be the point of contact for designated asset classes and will be asked to produce reports, marketing materials and communications on other asset classes from time to time.

  • Take responsibility for other regular investment content relating to his/her asset class that is included in Russell's regular or ad hoc investment communications. Write ad hoc pieces about markets and other significant events on request. Contribute to new business initiatives when required. This can include monthly and Quarterly Fund reports and market commentaries either scheduled or upon request, ad hoc presentations about manager changes and ad hoc presentations/ written reports on funds positioning in relation to market events / trends.

  • Assist in building & maintaining strong relationships with key external stakeholders in the Investment Division, marketing professionals, client service and sales teams. Attend regular investment meetings and communicate themes for sales and marketing purposes.
