We are looking for a Business Development Manager Asia / Pacific who will be responsible for driving sales growth and market presence for Solabia within our Bioindustries segment (Peptones) directly or through distributors.
This role requires a deep understanding of the peptone / ingredients industry (culture media manufacturing and fermentation industry), a strong sales and technical background, as well as a good understanding of the customers’ needs, requirements, and trends in the peptone industries.
We are also expecting that the candidate is already connected with major customers in the Market.
Responsibilities:
The Business Development Manager generates leads, nurtures and expands existing relationships, and identifies opportunities for potential future growth.
He/She should be adept at scrutinizing territories to detect untapped markets and establishing strategies for increasing revenue from current accounts and new accounts.
He/She possess a deep understanding of his/her own company’s products and services, along with competitor offerings, and can educate customers in a persuasive yet engaging manner.
- Generates leads, nurtures and expands existing relationships with customers, and identifies opportunities for potential future growth.
- Develops and implements strategic sales plans to expand market with new and existing customers.
- Monitors sales performance, analyzes sales data, and utilizes CRM to track progress, maintains updated view of the sales opportunity pipeline identify areas for improvement, and presents findings to senior management.
- Stays informed of industry developments, competitor activities, and emerging trends to inform business strategies and identify potential risks or opportunities.
- Acquires expertise on our portfolio of peptones and trends/concepts to effectively promote products.
- Train and animate distributor meetings, set and execute goals for distributors and assure the technical and regulatory assistance, with the assistance of colleagues within the company.
- Liaises with various departments (Marketing/ Customer Service/ Logistics/ finance/R&D) to ensure all customer inquiries are addressed properly.
- Represents Solabia at industry trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings to promote our products, establishes strong business relationships, and generates leads.
Requirements & Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or higher; specialization in Biology, Microbiology, Food technology or related life sciences, Business and/or Marketing is a plus.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in sales within the bioindustries arena, ideally with a focus on peptones sales. The right candidate with less experience might be considered if other factors are met.
- In-depth knowledge of the peptone industry, including raw materials, manufacturing processes, market dynamics and the biotech market in general.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Strong customer relationships and the ability to manage key international account.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and make strategic decisions.
- Enthusiastic, highly self-motivated, result-orientated, multi-tasker, with ability to work well under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently, while also being a team player capable of collaborating with team members
- Establish the customer network in Asia / Pacific
- Fluent in English, excellent written and verbal communication skills, negotiation, and presentation skills. A second language, ideally Chinese, would be a big plus.
- Technical understanding and the ability to translate technical concepts into compelling stories is a plus.
