The Senior Information Security Administrator position will lead the performance of security assessments and audits on the EDCO infrastructure. This position is responsible for identifying and mitigating security risks and vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, implementing security controls and architecting security solutions for the business. This position will work with both Windows and Linux OS environments, have a strong knowledge of security best practices, and have familiarity with a wide range of tools. Additionally, the Senior Administrator will oversee the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and knowledge base content for the Solarity environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership on security topics and architecture
  • Lead security assessments and audits on the EDCO infrastructure and applications, and report on the findings and recommendations.
  • Identify and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities, and implement security controls and best practices.
  • Respond to security incidents and breaches, and coordinate with the appropriate teams and authorities.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and knowledge base content for the EDCO environment.
  • Provide security awareness and education to the EDCO staff and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze security events and logs, and use security tools and solutions to detect and prevent threats.
  • Research and evaluate new security technologies and trends, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Mentor junior staff on security concepts and skills.
  • Complete security-related projects and tasks with minimal supervision and high quality.
  • Create detailed documentation of security systems and procedures when necessary.
  • Create detailed knowledge base articles for consumption by the various departments.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical experience in a predominant security role.
  • A bachelor's degree with a relevant focus in information security, cybersecurity, information technology, or computer science.
  • Proven ability to implement and maintain security policies, standards, and best practices for the organization.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft security tools and technologies, such as Azure AD, Intune, Defender, ATP, Sentinel, and M365 Security Center.
  • Experience with security assessment and monitoring tools, such as vulnerability scanners, SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and antivirus.
  • Experience with data protection and encryption technologies, such as BitLocker, DLP, FIM, PKI, and certificates.
  • Exposure to cloud security concepts and frameworks, such as AWS, Azure, NIST, and ISO.
  • Demonstrated ability to automate security tasks and workflows. Experience with scripting languages and tools, such as PowerShell, Python, and Ansible, a plus.
  • Knowledge of SOC II, NIST-800, HITRUST, HIPPA compliance programs a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, desire to work in a team setting.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.

  • Available to participate in an On-call rotation.

  • Take ownership of issues and understand this occasionally involves working weekends/non-business hours to see through to resolution.
  • Clearly communicate all scheduled PTO and be aware of any upcoming due dates that may be impacted, escalating to management to secure appropriate backup when needed.

  • Have the ability to weigh business needs and impacts in contrast to security initiatives.
  • Communicate issue details in a clear and concise manner.
  • Escalate issues when appropriate to the next level or management.
