The Work You'll Do:
Reporting to the Chief Sales Officer, the VP, Global Sales Engineering is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and enhancing the global sales engineering function. This includes coaching and empowering technical Sales Engineers, executing complex sales deals, and crafting compelling presentations to articulate the value of Sovos product suite. The role is essential for ensuring effective leadership and support for sales and partner teams in the sales cycle, ultimately contributing to the organization's success in securing new clients and alliances.
- Lead Sovos global sales engineering team, ensuring clear process and best practices are used to support and enable the achievement of global sales goals
- Manage and develop the team of sales engineers in the client discovery process to help uncover unforeseen technical challenges and ensure the proper offering is being proposed
- Strategically lead the sales engineering team to create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the value proposition of Sovos suite of products
- Develop and empower sales engineers to serve as the customer-facing product experts on sales calls and helping navigate prospects
- Lead, develop and manage global processes for the successful completion of global RFP and RFI responses for prospective new clients to win new deals
- Partner with go-to-market leadership to plan, prepare, and execute on strategic deals in complex sales cycles
- Participate and drive cross-functional alignment and prep for key engagements
- Communicate effectively with clients, internal teams, peers, and management
- Have a growth focused mindset and support in the creation, maturation, and closing of sales and alliances opportunities
What We Need From You
- 10+ years of successful people management within Sales Engineering functions
- Highly skilled and knowledgeable of techniques to present and sell to Executive level prospects and clients; excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Specific tax, technology and global regulatory knowledge and experience
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic rapidly changing environment
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills as well as attention to detail
- Strong project management skills including follow through and ability to see projects to completion
- without significant oversight required
- Ability to take a concept, internalize it, rally others around, drive its implementation, and identify ways to continuously improve it
- Proven track record of success in improving organizational processes
- Due to client contractual obligations– the successful candidate will have to clear a background check and drug test
