Don't worry if you don't check all the boxes -- apply anyway! We're focused on hiring the right people, not just the "right" resume. It's not about what you've done elsewhere; it's all about what you're capable of doing here.

The Work You'll Do:

As a Senior Dev Ops Engineer at Sovos, you will apply a systematic approach to the development, maintenance, and operation of Configuration Management (CM) products and services for our internal Product Development team. You'll work collaboratively across the business to understand customer and internal needs and develop AI-enhanced solutions in the areas of software builds (compilation) and packaging. Throughout your journey with us, you'll serve as a consultant to others in your areas of expertise, championing intelligent automation and continually developing skills in both traditional DevOps and emerging AI technologies relevant to your role.

More specifically, you will:

  • Apply defined practices and procedures to design, implement, and support individual software projects while building effective working relationships with team members
  • Implement and integrate AI-driven automation into the build and release processes to enhance efficiency, detect anomalies, and predict potential issues before they impact production
  • Leverage machine learning techniques to analyze build performance metrics, identify optimization opportunities, and continuously improve configuration management systems
  • Set up, maintain, and upgrade Configuration Management technology and processes, including analyzing environment needs, determining the best technology to use, and implementing selected technology/CM tools
  • Integrate CM tools with other development technology and administer these tools by helping users set up workspaces, perform routine troubleshooting, and training users in CM technology and processes
  • Drive continuous building of product releases, ensuring compiler versions are up-to-date, working with build technology, establishing build processes, and continually improving these processes
  • Provide kits to QA and production for release to external customers, partners, and/or internal teams while administering the change process of collecting, auditing, reconciling, recording, reporting, and distributing project component information

What We Need From You

  • 5-10 years of prior experience in a release engineering role
  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related software engineering experience
  • Developing skills in or exposure to scripting languages (Perl, Shell, etc.), build processes for one or more languages (C, Java, .Net, etc.), Release Engineering/CM best practices, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience with AI/ML tools and frameworks for DevOps processes, such as predictive analytics for build failures, anomaly detection in system performance, or intelligent automation of routine tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and implement AI-powered solutions that enhance software delivery pipelines, including familiarity with relevant libraries, frameworks, or platforms for DevOps AI integration
  • Ability to interact effectively with teammates, colleagues, and customers; comprehend and communicate complex concepts; concentrate, analyze, and resolve complex problems; and utilize technology to fulfill work requirements
  • Multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment while maintaining integrity, reliability, ethical practices, and a professional focus on projects
  • Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire
