The Work You'll Do:
As a Tax Analyst (LATAM) at Sovos, you will be a key member of our Tax Analyst team responsible for forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning (LRP) processes. You will also support various ad hoc business analyses in support of Sovos' objectives, helping our organization maintain compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
More specifically, you will:
- Review and analyze tax accounts (VAT, income tax, withholdings) on a monthly basis, preparing reconciliations and reporting variances
- Draft VAT (F29) and other recurring tax returns for Chile, while collecting and organizing supporting documentation for filings
- Support LATAM compliance by gathering accounting and tax information for external advisors in other countries and tracking due dates to proactively flag upcoming deadlines
- Assist in reviewing local balances and financial statements from a tax perspective, preparing working papers for accounting–tax reconciliations
- Maintain orderly, up-to-date files for tax support and submitted returns, ensuring returns and tax payments are properly documented
- Prepare tax information required for monthly and annual closes, and assist with preliminary calculations for tax provisions
- Support preparation of information requested by auditors and tax authorities, drafting initial responses for review and approval
What We Need From You
- Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of experience in a financial-based role
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, primarily Excel and PowerPoint
- Medium level of English proficiency
- Medium knowledge of ERP systems such as Salesforce and Netsuite
- Ability to work in a primary office location with minimal travel (less than 25%) both domestic and international to Sovos locations and events
- Proficiency in utilizing technology (e.g., phone systems, computer hardware and software applications) to fulfill work requirements
- Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire
