The Work You'll Do:

The Technical Account Manager II (TAM II) serves as a mid-level technical lead for SaaS and On-Premise customer projects, implementations, testing, go-live, and ongoing support. TAM IIs manage moderately complex accounts and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with high customer satisfaction. This role also acts as an escalation point for assigned accounts and contributes to process improvements and client success initiatives.

More specifically, you will:

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned Enterprise accounts, leading technical projects from planning through Go Live and post-deployment support
  • Coordinate code deployments involving Sovos cross-functional teams and clients, ensuring documentation aligns with client expectations and supporting customer issues including installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Conduct annual account reviews and health check-ins, perform regular case reviews, and ensure jurisdictional and seasonal readiness, including participation in on-site visits as needed
  • Deliver training internally and externally on software usage and best practices, while representing assigned accounts during emergencies and managing crisis communications
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for product enhancements based on client interactions to ensure adoption and successful delivery of Sovos products and services

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 2–3 years' experience in customer implementations, technical support, or similar roles
  • Experience in the software industry preferred with SaaS experience a plus, along with working knowledge of Sovos product offerings and relevant tax rules and processes
  • Proficiency in SQL queries and scripting preferred, with strong planning, organizational, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated success in managing intermediate-level client projects with high attention to detail and professionalism in client interactions
  • Familiarity with project management tools, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office suite, with business acumen and ability to understand client needs and translate them into technical solutions
  • Willingness to travel minimally (less than 25%) both domestically and internationally to Sovos locations and events, and work outside core business hours when needed
  • Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire
