The Work You'll Do:
As a Collections Analyst at Sovos, you'll be at the heart of our global financial operations, ensuring the smooth flow of revenue that powers our mission to transform tax compliance worldwide. Working with customers across multiple countries and time zones, you'll combine analytical expertise with relationship-building skills to optimize our accounts receivable processes.
This role offers the unique opportunity to develop deep financial acumen while collaborating with diverse teams across our international operations. You'll leverage cutting-edge financial systems and AI-powered tools to drive efficiency and accuracy in collections, while building meaningful relationships with our global customer base.
More specifically, you will:
- Contact customers proactively to ensure timely payment of accounts, conducting professional collection calls across different markets and time zones
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships while upholding Sovos standards, focusing on collaborative problem-solving and win-win solutions
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies for customer accounts using advanced analytical tools and cross-functional collaboration
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries in both English and Spanish, demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Work independently on complex accounts while contributing actively to team initiatives and process improvements
- Track and process refunds for customers with credit balances, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regional regulations
- Research and resolve disputes on customer accounts, partnering with Sales, Legal, and Operations teams as needed
- Prepare comprehensive reports including budgeting and forecasting for collections, providing actionable insights to leadership
- Support additional accounting tasks and special projects that drive departmental excellence and innovation
What We Need From You
- Proven experience in Accounts Receivable and Collections, preferably in a technology or SaaS environment
- Advanced Excel skills with ability to work with large datasets, create complex formulas, and develop insightful reports
- Strong organizational abilities and self-motivation to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills with knowledge of accounting principles and financial best practices
- Outstanding documentation, research, and analytical capabilities with attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task effectively while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal) strongly preferred
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and comfort learning new technologies
- Cultural awareness and ability to work effectively with diverse, international teams
