The Work You'll Do:

The Senior Business Analyst is a key contributor to business planning, revenue planning, and analytics functions across the eCommerce/Embedded Partner team. This person will act as chief of staff for the eCommerce business unit and focus on business process, business health and reporting metrics working cross-functionally with the rest of the organization to ensure business and reporting alignment.

This role requires someone who can engage at a deep level of nuance within the business unit, connect insights to strategic objectives, and work cross-functionally with finance, product management, sales, operations, and executive leadership to ensure reporting and organizational alignment.

More specifically, you will:

  • Partner with eCommerce leadership to drive the annual and quarterly business planning process, including revenue forecasting, operating expense planning, and headcount alignment.
  • Develop and refine revenue models to support scenario planning, investment decisions, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Track performance against plan, highlighting risks and opportunities in a timely manner.
  • Partner with Marketing Ops and IT to design, build and maintain dashboards to provide real-time insights into financial and operational performance across eCommerce products globally.
  • Create reporting frameworks that enable consistent measurement of key metrics such as revenue growth, bookings, pipeline, retention, and margin.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights through clear visualizations, executive-ready presentations, and narratives.
  • Lead recurring business unit financial reviews, synthesizing financial results, market insights, and operational performance.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to ensure accuracy, alignment, and relevance of performance reporting.
  • Provide recommendations to senior leadership on levers to optimize growth, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners (Product, Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Finance) to ensure alignment of business plans and performance metrics.
  • Proactively identify process improvements, automation opportunities, and data quality enhancements.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executives, building credibility through deep business knowledge and data-driven insights.

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 7+ years in business analysis, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), or related roles within the software or technology industry.
  • Proven experience in revenue planning, analytics, and dashboard development for global or multi-business unit organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and present insights at the executive level.
  • Highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to connect business drivers to financial performance.
  • Highly organized and driven, with the ability to manage numerous differing activities across many differing business units.
  • Hands-on analyst with a passion for digging deep into data while maintaining a big-picture perspective.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively across global teams and cultures.
  • Comfortable leading discussions, challenging assumptions, and driving alignment across multiple stakeholders.
  • This position requires minimal (less than 25%) travel both domestic and international to Sovos locations and events.
  • Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire.
