The Work You'll Do:
As a Senior Enterprise Account Manager at Sovos, you'll drive strategic growth within our existing client base, helping enterprise organizations maximize their investment in our compliance solutions. In a world where tax compliance isn't optional, you'll partner with clients to navigate evolving regulatory requirements and identify opportunities to expand their use of Sovos' industry-leading cloud tax software.
Your role goes beyond traditional account management—you'll be a trusted advisor who understands the complexities of contract negotiations, procurement processes, and the strategic value of compliance technology. Working across borders and industries, you'll manage the full lifecycle of client relationships, from contract reviews to executive-level consultations that shape long-term partnerships.
More specifically, you will:
- Review and demonstrate the value of Sovos' SaaS-based products and services to current enterprise accounts, identifying opportunities to expand usage and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Build and manage a robust pipeline across your assigned territory, delivering profitable agreement renewals and expansions while consistently meeting and exceeding revenue targets with accurate forecasting
- Conduct executive-level discussions with senior stakeholders, presenting consultative, value-based solutions that align with client needs and shape a shared vision for long-term partnership
- Navigate complex contract negotiations with procurement and legal teams, leveraging advanced negotiation skills to manage enterprise agreements and address non-starters effectively
- Serve as a strategic thought leader, educating clients on compliance trends and teaching them about solutions they may find valuable as their regulatory requirements evolve
- Integrate late-stage changes seamlessly without disrupting deal momentum, ensuring smooth transitions from sales to implementation with clear expectations
- Communicate effectively across multiple channels—phone, email, social media, and onsite meetings—to maintain strong relationships and drive customer satisfaction
- Participate in mentorship programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives, contributing to team development and organizational growth
What We Need From You
- 3+ years of account management or quota-carrying sales experience, with business-to-business sales background preferred
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding annual quota for at least two consecutive years and/or achieving President's Club recognition
- Demonstrated success in growing and retaining a book of business while exceeding quota targets year over year
- Experience with SaaS solutions and cloud-based environments preferred, with understanding of subscription-based business models
- Strong ability to present consultative solutions by actively listening to customer needs and shaping long-term relationship strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to navigate difficult conversations both internally and externally
- Experience working with procurement teams, legal departments, and managing renewal negotiations in complex enterprise environments
- High degree of self-awareness, commitment to personal development, and demonstrated initiative to drive results
- Ability to work independently while maintaining integrity and ethical behavior across all stakeholder interactions
- Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire
