Don't worry if you don't check all the boxes – apply anyway! We're focused on hiring the right people, not just the "right" resume. It's not about what you've done elsewhere; it's all about what you're capable of doing here.

The Work You'll Do:

As a Senior Product Owner, you will be responsible for ensuring that market and product requirements are appropriately reflected and implemented in finished products. This largely inward-facing role serves as the main liaison between product marketing, product management, and the engineering team. You will be an expert on the functionality of a specific product, supporting other groups such as sales engineering, implementation, and technical support/customer service.

More specifically, you will:

  • Serve as main liaison between product management and the engineering team, understanding the product strategy as defined by product management
  • Collect product requirements from key buyer audiences and end users
  • Coordinate the creation of product mockups and prototypes
  • Fulfill the "product owner role," principally responsible for prioritization and maintaining (or grooming) a backlog which maximizes outcomes aligned with the product strategy (roadmap) for one or multiple agile development teams
  • Write and present the product requirements document
  • Oversee and sign off on the functional spec
  • Oversee the product as it is being built by development/engineering
  • Leverage AI-powered tools to enhance productivity, streamline backlog management, and accelerate decision-making
  • Communicate with stakeholders during the development of a product to keep them updated
  • Coordinate testing of a product, including user acceptance testing, alpha and beta programs
  • Collect, coordinate, and prioritize bug fixes
  • Proactively collaborate to align cross-functional teams (in particular Professional Services and Support) on strategy, planned releases, and growth
  • Consistently ensure alignment by engaging stakeholders at the right time and using a wide range of communication techniques to paint a clear picture of 'why, how, and when'
  • Optimize priorities and scope to ensure maximum value is delivered (maximize outcomes, not outputs)

What We Need From You

  • 5-10 years in a related field or similar role
  • Experience in B2B SaaS business analysis or product development preferred
  • Complete understanding of the "Product Owner" role
  • Subject matter expertise of a Sovos product portfolio segment and/or instrumental technology
  • Ability to balance gut-feel judgment and logical analysis; willingness to make decisions decisively
  • Ability to define priorities and lead teams with a results-driven attitude
  • Familiarity with AI-powered productivity tools and a willingness to integrate them into your workflow
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively
  • Proactive collaboration skills to align cross-functional teams on strategy and releases
  • Commitment to maximizing outcomes and delivering value
  • Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire
