Position Overview

Sovos is on a journey to become a truly product-led organization. Over the past decade, Sovos has grown through multiple acquisitions, resulting in a broad and complex product portfolio. While this scale has enabled growth, it has also created duplication, operational drag, and legacy products that limit customers’ ability to benefit from new innovation.

The Product Transformation team partners with Product Leadership to solve the company’s most complex and high-impact operating challenges. One of the most critical challenges we are addressing today is Portfolio Consolidation — intentionally reducing portfolio complexity by migrating customers from legacy products to our strategic go-forward platforms in a customer-safe, value-preserving way.

We are looking for a Senior Product Transformation Manager to lead Sovos’ Portfolio Consolidation and Customer Migration program. This is a highly visible, cross-functional initiative with regular insights provided to the ELT and Board. This role partners closely with Product Leaders to identify consolidation candidates, define exit and migration strategies, and orchestrate end-to-end execution across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

Portfolio Consolidation Strategy & Candidate Identification

  • Partner with Product Leadership to identify consolidation and End-of-Life (EOL) candidates using clear, data-driven criteria (e.g., customer adoption, revenue trends, technical health, support burden, and strategic alignment).
  • Help Product Leaders evaluate trade-offs between continued investment, maintenance, consolidation, and exit.
  • Ensure portfolio decisions are intentional, transparent, and defensible to executive leadership and the Board.

Customer Migration & Exit Readiness Definition

  • Define and maintain a standard consolidation and EOL readiness checklist that ensures customer, commercial, and operational readiness before any product exit.
  • Translate consolidation decisions into clear, Product-owned inputs, including:
  • Customer migration paths, timing, and sequencing
  • Go-forward product readiness and identified gaps
  • Commercial, pricing, SKU, and contract considerations
  • Legal, regulatory, and compliance implications
  • Implementation, Support, and Services readiness
  • Ensure exit criteria are practical, repeatable, and consistently applied across products.

Cross-Functional Program Leadership

  • Orchestrate cross-functional execution across Product, Engineering, Sales, Implementation, Support, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, and Marketing.
  • Build and manage integrated consolidation and EOL plans that make milestones, dependencies, risks, and owners explicit.
  • Proactively identify and resolve misalignment that could put customer experience, revenue, or delivery timelines at risk.

Visibility, Risk Management & Executive Decision Support

  • Maintain clear, shared visibility into consolidation and EOL progress so leaders understand what is on track, what is at risk, and where decisions are required.
  • Proactively surface and escalate risks related to customer impact, migration readiness, and revenue exposure.
  • Support structured go/no-go decisions with clear options, trade-offs, and risk assessments.

Playbooks, Repeatability & Continuous Improvement

  • Create and evolve Portfolio Consolidation and EOL playbooks that define standard approaches, expectations, and cross-functional handoffs.
  • Ensure playbooks are lightweight and reusable.
  • Run retrospectives on completed consolidations to identify systemic gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Apply AI and automation thoughtfully to surface risk signals earlier, reduce manual coordination, and improve insight quality.

How Success Is Measured

  • Portfolio consolidation decisions are executed with clear plans, known risks, and no surprises.
  • Customers are successfully migrated to go-forward products with minimal disruption.
  • Revenue and customer experience risks are understood, managed, and actively mitigated.
  • Product Leaders reuse consolidation and EOL frameworks with increasing independence.
  • Progress and outcomes are clear, explainable, and credible to the ELT and Board.

Ideal Background

  • Five or more years of experience in Product Operations, Program Management, Product Management, or Portfolio Strategy roles in B2B SaaS.
  • Proven experience leading portfolio consolidation programs.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and how portfolio decisions impact customers, revenue, and operations.
  • Comfortable partnering closely with Product Leaders while constructively escalating unresolved risks.
  • Systems-oriented, pragmatic, and outcomes-focused.
  • Experience in post-acquisition or complex portfolio environments strongly preferred.
  • Enjoys bringing structure and clarity to ambiguous, high-stakes problems.

Organizational Alignment

  • Reports to: VP, Product Transformation

Environmental Job Requirement and Working Conditions
