The Work You'll Do:

At Sovos, we're transforming how companies around the world manage tax compliance -- helping half of the Fortune 500 and thousands more stay ahead in a complex, ever-changing global landscape. As a Senior Manager of Desktop Services, you'll lead the delivery, stability, and continuous improvement of end-user technology services that keep our global workforce productive, secure, and connected.

This role sits at the intersection of people leadership, technical strategy, and operational excellence -- owning everything from endpoint management and office infrastructure to Microsoft 365, identity services, and service platforms like Jira. You'll partner closely with Information Security, Infrastructure, Network, Facilities, and Business Technology teams to deliver a modern, high-quality employee experience across corporate offices and remote locations worldwide.

More specifically, you will:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Desktop Services team spanning endpoint support, endpoint engineering, and workplace technology operations
  • Define and execute the strategy and roadmap for end-user computing, office technology, endpoint management, and productivity platforms
  • Establish clear service ownership, standards, and operating models across desktop, office infrastructure, identity, and collaboration environments
  • Own the full lifecycle of endpoint devices (Windows, macOS, mobile): procurement, imaging, deployment, patching, support, and retirement
  • Maintain accountability for the Intune estate, including device enrollment and compliance, configuration profiles and baselines, application deployment, and alignment with conditional access policies
  • Lead software deployment and packaging, ensuring secure, automated, and scalable delivery of applications
  • Own end-user office infrastructure and workplace technology, including conference room AV and video conferencing, office connectivity, printing, badge integration, and shared peripherals
  • Partner with Network and Facilities teams to support office openings, moves, expansions, and closures, and resolve office-wide technology incidents
  • Maintain ownership of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related collaboration services
  • Drive adoption, lifecycle management, and operational excellence for productivity tools
  • Maintain operational accountability for Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD) as they relate to end-user identities, device identities, and authentication workflows
  • Support modern identity initiatives including conditional access, passwordless authentication, and zero-trust alignment
  • Own and administer Jira environments supporting IT service delivery, request management, and workflow automation
  • Oversee day-to-day desktop, office, and endpoint operations including incident, problem, and request management
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues, including executive and VIP support
  • Define, track, and report on KPIs, SLAs, and customer satisfaction metrics
  • Partner closely with Information Security to ensure endpoints, office technology, identities, and productivity platforms meet security standards
  • Support vulnerability management, patching, endpoint hardening, and audit readiness
  • Manage vendor relationships for endpoint hardware, office technology, software, SaaS platforms, and support services
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization for desktop services and workplace technology

What We Need From You

  • Proven experience leading a Desktop Services, End-User Computing, or Workplace Technology team in a mid-to-large enterprise environment
  • Deep expertise in endpoint management, including Intune, Windows and macOS device lifecycle, and software deployment practices
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD), including identity lifecycle, device joins, and modern authentication
  • Experience owning and administering Jira or similar ITSM platforms in alignment with ITIL service management practices
  • Demonstrated ability to define and deliver against SLAs, KPIs, and service quality metrics
  • Strong cross-functional partnership skills, particularly with Security, Infrastructure, Network, and Facilities teams
  • Comfortable supporting executive and VIP stakeholders and managing high-impact escalations
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and technology budgets
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% to support Sovos locations and events
  • Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire
