The Work You'll Do

Join our EMEA Regulatory Analysis & Design team as a Regulatory Specialist in a fully remote role. You will be part of a diverse, multinational group dedicated to delivering regulatory intelligence that powers Sovos’ industry-leading compliance solutions. Your work will focus on global legal research across multiple jurisdictions, primarily related to electronic invoicing and tax reporting, including information security aspects. You will monitor legislative and regulatory changes, analyze their impact on our products and services, and collaborate closely with Product Management to ensure compliance and co-design future software solutions. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge, AI-driven environment, supporting VAT filing solutions and staying ahead of global regulatory trends.

More specifically, you will:

• Proactively monitor legislative, regulatory, and administrative developments concerning electronic invoicing, tax filing, and fiscal obligations across supported jurisdictions
• Conduct research on primary legal sources to identify requirements relevant to Sovos’ products and services
• Analyze indirect tax filing obligations, return formats, submission deadlines, and procedural requirements for VAT compliance and reporting solutions
• Prepare clear, structured summaries of regulatory developments and their potential impact for internal teams
• Maintain and update regulatory tracking tools, databases, and monitoring dashboards to ensure comprehensive jurisdictional coverage
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams by providing accurate regulatory context as needed
• Stay current on global trends in continuous transaction controls, tax filing, and electronic archiving

What We Need From You

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
• Willingness to learn the complexities of tax compliance and electronic invoicing regulations worldwide
• Interest in working at the intersection of tax, regulation, and technology
• Strong research skills with the ability to navigate authoritative sources and official government publications
• Comfort working with legal and regulatory texts, including EU-level instruments
• Excellent command of spoken and written English
• High attention to detail and a methodical approach to tracking information across multiple jurisdictions
• Ability to synthesize complex regulatory content into clear, concise summaries for varied audiences
• Self-directed learner, personally accountable for professional development
• Highly collaborative and adaptable
