Our purpose-built systems provide the tools you need to thrive in a world where governments demand increased visibility, faster reporting and greater control over business processes. Excited about the possibilities? So are we!

Don't worry if you don't check all the boxes -- apply anyway! We're focused on hiring the right people, not just the "right" resume. It's not about what you've done elsewhere; it's all about what you're capable of doing here.

The Work You'll Do:

At Sovos, we're transforming how companies around the world manage tax compliance -- helping half of the Fortune 500 and thousands more stay ahead in a complex, ever-changing global regulatory landscape. As a Senior Regulatory Counsel on our EMEA Regulatory Analysis team, you'll deliver the legal intelligence that powers our products -- monitoring legislative developments, analysing their impact, and partnering with Product Management to ensure our solutions meet regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

This isn't back-office compliance work. You'll be a recognised subject matter expert and thought leader, translating complex tax rules for technical and non-technical audiences alike, and helping shape the future of e-invoicing and electronic tax reporting globally.

More specifically, you will:

  • Proactively monitor legislative and regulatory developments related to electronic invoicing, tax reports, and indirect tax across multiple jurisdictions
  • Analyse the impact of regulatory changes on Sovos solutions and provide timely, accurate guidance to internal teams to drive implementation
  • Communicate complex legal requirements clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences, including through workshops, webinars, blog posts, and regulatory documentation
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Sales Engineering, Alliances, and other functions to maintain a deep understanding of Sovos' ecosystem and customer compliance needs
  • Support colleagues involved in designing, building, and maintaining Sovos solutions by providing regulatory expertise
  • Represent Sovos as a regulatory thought leader through advisory boards, publications, and external engagements
  • Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance regulatory research, synthesise information more efficiently, and stay ahead of a rapidly evolving compliance landscape

What We Need From You

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent master's degree in law, finance, or accounting
  • Proficiency in legislative tracking and tax research techniques
  • Experience in the enterprise software market, with an understanding of how compliance solutions serve businesses across size and geography
  • Strong familiarity with businesses' financial, logistical, administrative, and IT processes
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with professionals in information technology, data science, and computer-assisted business processes
  • Excellent research, analysis, and writing skills, with the ability to synthesise and communicate complex information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English; additional language skills (Chinese, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Arabic, Spanish, Polish, or other) are a strong asset
  • Collaborative team orientation with a track record of working effectively across functions
  • Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hire
