The Work You'll Do:

As a QA Engineer II at Sovos, you will work closely with customers and team members to ensure products and services function in a fully integrated manner as expected. You understand why we build and test software the way we do and actively participate in and influence your peers.

More specifically, you will:

• Create, use, and maintain regression tests and facilitate documentation of products
• Participate in the process for delivering code to production
• Identify functionality that can be automated and contribute to the stability of automated tests
• Debug automated test scripts and drive continuous improvements
• Champion the importance of automation within the continuous integration cycle
• Motivate the team to deliver results with the best quality and participate in team decisions
• Support onboarding through a general understanding of the product
• Navigate the Sovos organizational structure to address roadblocks and QA activities
• Proactively collaborate with other departments by communicating product knowledge
• Identify and share valuable knowledge with the team
• Promote Sovos Core Values and Global QA Practices
• Effectively communicate dependencies to other development teams
• Recognize and appreciate team members' contributions to improve overall quality
• Help team members stay current on the status of team activities
• Leverage AI-powered testing tools and emerging automation technologies to improve test coverage, accelerate feedback cycles, and enhance overall quality outcomes

What We Need From You

• Technical Bachelor's degree
• 1–4 years of experience in a QA or software testing role
• Ability to apply learnings independently and to the team context
• Deep understanding of product functionality and workflows
• Working knowledge of Sovos SDLC and SCRUM methodologies
• Understanding of the value of high-quality stories and estimation for productive grooming and planning
• Active participation in team meetings and adherence to established practices
• Ability to help triage escalations by reproducing issues from support
• Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on bug reporting
• Exposure to the high-level workflow of products
• Strong ability to manage competing priorities and goals
• Comfort working with AI-assisted tools and a willingness to continuously develop digital skills in a fast-evolving technology environment
