The Work You'll Do:

As a Senior Software Engineer at Sovos, you'll tackle complex technical challenges at scale -- designing and building solutions that directly impact how thousands of global businesses stay compliant. You'll be a technical leader on your Scrum team, partnering with product managers, UX/UI designers, QA testers, and DBAs to deliver high-quality software that solves real customer problems.

More specifically, you will:

• Mentor and coach fellow software engineers, sharing technical knowledge and raising the bar across the team
• Lead the development, testing, and deployment of complex software applications and solutions
• Champion a culture of code quality, continuous learning, and growth throughout the department
• Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to technical design documentation, release notes, and bug fix documentation
• Follow and improve Continuous Development and Continuous Integration practices
• Design and perform testing protocols to ensure fully tested, production-ready releases
• Leverage AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle -- from requirements analysis and design to coding, testing, debugging, and documentation -- to accelerate delivery and improve quality
• Stay current on emerging technologies by participating in knowledge shares, attending conferences, and engaging with the broader developer community

What We Need From You

• 8+ years of proven success in software engineering using object-oriented programming and web application technology
• 5+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot Microservices
• Version control using Git/GitHub and working knowledge of IIS configuration
• Experience developing software in Azure is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity and software quality across the development lifecycle
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, fully remote environment
• Comfort working within an Agile development process
