Position Summary
The Technical Consultant Intern is an entry-level role within the Professional Services team, designed for students or recent graduates who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in software implementation, technical consulting, and process automation using modern technologies, including AI.
In this role, the intern will support Technical Consultants and Project Managers during customer implementations of Sovos software solutions. The intern will learn how customers integrate enterprise systems (such as ERP platforms) with Sovos products, assist with technical configuration and troubleshooting, and collaborate on initiatives to identify opportunities to automate tasks, improve processes, and increase team efficiency through AI and digital tools.
This position offers strong exposure to SaaS implementations, technical problem solving, and innovation in a Professional Services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Professional Services team during customer software implementations
- Assist with the configuration and validation of Sovos applications based on documented implementation guides and best practices
- Help prepare and review technical deliverables such as configuration files, templates, and validation outputs
- Assist in troubleshooting basic technical or data issues under the guidance of senior team members
- Collaborate with the team to identify repetitive or manual tasks that could be improved through automation or AI-driven solutions
- Experiment with tools (including AI-based tools) to help optimize workflows, documentation, data validation, or analysis activities
- Participate in internal project meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-transfer activities
- Document implementation steps, findings, and improvement ideas clearly and accurately
- Communicate effectively with internal team members to provide status updates and share learnings

Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Basic understanding of software applications, data concepts, or system integrations
- Interest in learning how AI, automation, or digital tools can improve technical or operational workflows
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow technical instructions and document work clearly
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Comfortable working in a remote, team-based environment
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Basic knowledge of SQL, XML, CSV files, or data formats
- Familiarity with cloud-based software, SaaS concepts, or automation tools
- Exposure to AI tools, scripting, data analysis, or workflow automation (academic or personal projects are welcome)
- Interest in technical consulting, professional services, or customer-facing technical roles
- Prior internship, academic project, or coursework related to software systems or data
