The Work You'll Do:

At Sovos, we're transforming how companies around the world manage tax compliance---helping half of the Fortune 500 and thousands more stay ahead in a complex, ever-changing global landscape. As a Data Analyst, you will apply ML and AI tooling to Sovos' global support operations data---building forecasting models for staffing and utilization, running LLM-powered classification pipelines, and surfacing insights through clean, readable visualizations.

This role is about applying the right tools to real operational problems and translating outputs into leadership-ready narratives.

More specifically, you will:

• Build and maintain forecasting models (Prophet or equivalent) for case volume, staffing, and utilization planning
• Design and maintain LLM classification pipelines for CSAT, ticket routing, and escalation flagging
• Develop and maintain text embedding and vector search workflows for semantic case matching and similarity search
• Write Python scripts for data cleaning, transformation, and visualization (pandas, plotly, matplotlib)
• Query Snowflake to answer ad hoc business questions and validate model outputs
• Translate ML model outputs into clear, non-technical narratives for ops managers and leadership
• Partner with the Analytics Engineer to ensure clean, reliable data inputs for all models

What We Need From You

• 3–5 years in a data analyst, ML analyst, or applied data science role
• Strong Python skills across data cleaning, transformation, and visualization
• Hands-on experience with Facebook Prophet or equivalent time-series forecasting library
• Proven experience applying LLMs via API for classification tasks, including prompt engineering, output validation, and cost management
• Familiarity with text embeddings and vector databases (Pinecone, pgvector, Snowflake Cortex, or similar)
• Solid SQL for analysis and validation (Snowflake preferred)
• Ability to communicate model outputs clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hire

Nice to Have:

• Understanding of LLM architecture and fine-tuning approaches
• Experience with scikit-learn or similar ML libraries
• Exposure to Snowflake Cortex or other cloud ML platforms
• Experience in a support, CX, or operations analytics context
