The Work You’ll Do
As a Junior Accountant based in Mumbai, you will join a high-performing finance team supporting a newly acquired Sovos entity in India. This is an excellent opportunity for an Accountant to build a global career in a leading SaaS organization.
You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, statutory compliance, and continuous process improvement - while working with modern ERP systems and collaborating with cross-functional global teams.
More specifically, you will:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and journal entries
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and support general ledger (GL) activities, including journal postings, reconciliations, and month-end close support
- Support bookkeeping activities and manage records within ERPNext
- Prepare sales and purchase orders, invoices, credit/debit notes, and vendor payment files
- Assist in calculating TDS, GST, and Income Tax liabilities
- Prepare and file statutory returns in compliance with Indian regulations
- Manage documentation for inward remittances (FIRC, BRC) and foreign invoices under FEMA
- Maintain organized financial records, contracts, and statutory filings
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to support business operations
What We Need From You
Essential:
- Part-qualified or qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent
- Strong understanding of Indian statutory compliance (TDS, GST, Income Tax, FEMA)
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills with proficiency in English
- Ability to work in a global, cross-functional environment
- Proficiency in MS Excel and willingness to learn new ERP systems
Preferred:
- Experience with NetSuite, ERPNext, SAP, or similar ERP systems
- Exposure to technical accounting and financial reporting
- Experience working with international teams
- Interest in automation and process improvement
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
