The Work You'll Do:

As Leader of Sales Specialists at Sovos, you'll lead and scale a high-performing team responsible for driving growth across strategic accounts throughout Europe. This is a player-coach role — you'll set the direction, develop your team, and roll up your sleeves on complex, high-value deals when it counts. You'll partner closely with the Chief Revenue Officer and senior sales leadership to shape the go-to-market strategy for the specialist function, and ensure the team delivers consistent, measurable revenue outcomes across every market they serve.

More specifically, you will:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of regional Sales Specialists, setting clear performance expectations and holding the team accountable to pipeline and revenue targets
  • Partner with the Chief Revenue Officer and revenue leadership to shape headcount plans, compensation structures, and performance metrics
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top sales talent in alignment with Sovos's growth objectives
  • Conduct regular pipeline reviews, call coaching, and deal inspections to accelerate performance and remove blockers
  • Foster a high-accountability, collaborative team culture that reflects Sovos's values and commitment to client excellence
  • Execute the Sales Specialist GTM strategy, including coverage models, regional prioritisation, and playbook development
  • Align specialist resources to the highest-value strategic account opportunities in partnership with sales and revenue leadership
  • Conduct and synthesise market and competitive analysis to surface trends, risks, and growth opportunities — translating insights into actionable strategies for each regional territory
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Sales Specialist team and internal stakeholders including Product, Marketing, Legal, and Finance
  • Represent the Sales Specialist function in senior leadership reviews, QBRs, and strategic planning processes
  • Develop and maintain team KPIs, dashboards, and reporting cadences to provide clear visibility into team performance
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance pipeline analysis, forecast accuracy, competitive intelligence, and team performance insights

What We Need From You

  • 7+ years of software sales experience with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets
  • Demonstrated success leading teams to meet or exceed revenue targets in a complex, multi-product sales environment
  • In-depth knowledge of VAT/SUT solutions, indirect tax regulations, and regional market dynamics
  • Strong command of the full sales process — from prospecting and pipeline development through negotiation and close
  • Excellent communication, executive presence, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels including the C-suite
  • Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and a data-driven approach to pipeline management and forecasting
  • Comfortable using AI-powered tools to drive smarter decisions across forecasting, account planning, and team development
  • Ability to travel as needed to support client engagement, team development, and industry events
  • Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hire
