The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing personnel and workflow in the production area. The primary focus is staffing and training to properly support the production schedule, with attention on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The Production Supervisor will manage and facilitate communications for problem-solving and improvements within the production area. Most of the Supervisor's time will be spent on the production floor monitoring product flow and working directly with the packaging line and roastery.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the efficient operations of the manufacturing floor.
- Provide leadership through supervision, delegation, coaching, training and project oversight to direct reports and their staff, including performance appraisals and corrective action plans as needed.
- Monitor production standards and goals daily.
- Work with the Operations Manager to ensure all production schedules are met.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and execution of all production roles and processes.
- Train Manufacturing Associates and Operators in specific roles.
- Display commitment to safety and promoting a safe environment.
- Complete all paperwork and log data per quality standards, with special emphasis on SOP's, HACCP, and Lot data capture.
- Review and monitor payroll for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Ensure all staff follow and adhere to company policies and procedures with regard to safety, quality, sanitation, personnel, maintenance, equipment and food safety.
- Minimum high school diploma, some college highly desired.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across departments, including team members, management, and external partners.
- 2-3 years manufacturing experience preferred or equivalent experience.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
- Able to lift and carry up to 45 lbs on a regular basis and to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to operate electrical and manual pallet jacks and forklift.
