This role manages the full-cycle recruitment process for high-volume, hourly positions while supporting a range of HR functions — including onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and performance management. The HR Generalist acts as a partner to operations, ensuring that staffing, engagement, and compliance initiatives drive safety, productivity, and a positive company culture across all shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus – 60–70%)

  • Lead and manage full-cycle recruitment for permanent, seasonal, and temporary roles in distribution and operations.
  • Partner with hiring managers to assess workforce needs and develop recruitment strategies that align with business goals.
  • Utilize multiple sourcing channels (job boards, social media, referrals, community events) to attract and engage qualified candidates.
  • Build and maintain a candidate pipeline for current and future hiring needs.
  • Coordinate and attend job fairs, campus events, and other employer branding initiatives.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience from application through onboarding.
  • Analyze and report recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, turnover) and recommend improvements based on data insights.
  • Support seasonal ramp-ups and workforce planning, including collaboration with staffing partners.

General HR Responsibilities (30–40%)

  • Conduct new hire orientations and oversee onboarding compliance, ensuring all training and safety protocols are met.
  • Prepare and process HR documentation for new hires, promotions, and internal transfers.
  • Support HR policy implementation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and programs.
  • Assist with performance management, engagement, and employee relations activities.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, documentation, and workforce data.
  • Partner with HR leadership on employee investigations and compliance reviews.
  • Maintain a visible HR presence on the warehouse floor to foster communication and build trust across shifts.
Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 2–4 years of HR experience, including 1–2 years in recruiting or talent acquisition.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HRIS/ATS systems (Paylocity experience a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of recruiting best practices and sourcing techniques.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and HR compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working across shifts and maintaining a regular presence in warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of talent marketing strategies (social media campaigns, job fairs, referral programs, and employer branding).

Preferred:

  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification.
  • Experience recruiting for warehouse or distribution roles.
