Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and strategic Content Marketing Director to lead the creation of compelling, scientifically grounded content that communicates our value across industries. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments and can proactively identify and execute content opportunities without waiting for direction.

This role will own the end-to-end content lifecycle—from strategy to production to performance analysis—and will work cross-functionally to create white papers, case studies, videos, blog posts, web content, and more. You must be able to translate complex scientific and technical concepts into clear, engaging narratives that resonate with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full content strategy aligned with business goals, sales initiatives, and brand positioning.
  • Proactively identify content opportunities that support awareness, engagement, and demand generation.
  • Write and manage production of high-impact content including:
    • White papers and technical reports
    • Case studies and customer success stories
    • Video scripts and product explainers
    • Website and landing page copy
    • Thought leadership articles and blogs
    • Social media and email campaigns
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, and data scientists to extract insights and shape them into compelling, digestible content.
  • Develop and maintain a forward-looking editorial calendar with clear themes, goals, and audiences.
  • Manage and direct external writers, designers, and producers when needed.
  • Partner closely with sales, product, and customer success teams to align messaging and enable content across the buyer journey.
  • Track and analyze content performance metrics to continuously improve content effectiveness.
  • Ensure a consistent voice, tone, and style across all content channels.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of content marketing or editorial experience, ideally in technology, science, or public safety sectors.
  • A self-motivated, high-energy individual who takes initiative and owns results.
  • Proven ability to tell complex, technical stories in a clear and engaging way.
  • Strong writing portfolio that includes a range of formats and tones.
  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices, content analytics tools, and digital marketing platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with GIS, fire science, emergency management, utilities, or climate tech strongly preferred.
