About the Role: We're actively seeking an accomplished APAC Credit Controller with leadership skills to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you'll take charge of credit control activities across the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring timely collections, minimizing risk, and providing guidance to the credit control team. Your responsibilities will encompass credit assessment, customer relationship management, risk mitigation, and fostering collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  1. Credit Control Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of credit control professionals.
    • Oversee day-to-day credit control operations, setting targets and ensuring adherence to deadlines.
    • Collaborate with the team to implement effective credit control strategies.
  2. Customer Relationship Management:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to facilitate efficient collections.
    • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring positive rapport.
    • Collaborate with billing, sales, and customer service teams to resolve disputes and negotiate payment terms.
  3. Credit Assessment and Risk Mitigation:
    • Evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing customers through detailed analysis.
    • Establish credit limits, terms, and conditions aligned with risk profiles.
    • Monitor credit limits and initiate appropriate actions to minimize credit risk.
  4. Collections and Reporting:
    • Coordinate collections efforts, ensuring timely payment from customers.
    • Prepare and analyse collections reports, highlighting trends and actionable insights.
    • Provide recommendations for process improvements to optimize cash flow.
  5. Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Partner with sales, finance, and legal teams to address credit-related matters.
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment.
    • Provide expertise on credit control practices during cross-functional discussions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or professional certification (CICM, ACCA) is advantageous.
  • Substantial experience in credit control roles, with a proven track record of successfully managing credit control teams.
  • Profound knowledge of credit control principles, risk assessment, and collection strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in financial software, ERPs, and Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis.
  • Leadership qualities, including team management and motivation.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on meeting targets and driving improvements.
  • Multinational experience and familiarity with APAC markets is a plus.
  • Adaptability to evolving business dynamics and a fast-paced environment.
