About you: This role will be a member of the centralised automation engineering team within the People and Payroll portfolio of the Product and Engineering team in the GO Centre for the APAC Division. This role works primarily on a cloud Payroll product and support necessary automation and performance testing requirements for them on an assignment basis. Key accountabilities and responsibilities: • Actively contribute to requirements discussions and requirements analysis, and take responsibility for understanding scope, risk and complexity of changes. • Write, develop and maintain automated Test Scripts using existing Automation Frameworks to help ensure maximum coverage, quality and scalability across products. • Understanding of automation design principles, best practices, coverage and strategy applicable to their product(s). • Work with developers to understand the unit testing coverage and write automate necessary scenarios at API and UI layers focusing on building ideal test pyramid. • Actively work on developing and maintaining test automation pipelines and daily execution of the same in different path to production environments. • Focus on continuous testing and helping team develop necessary quality gates along the path to production journey. • Work on identifying, setting up, and maintaining test data requirements and identifying the ways to automate the management of data. • Work on identifying the performance testing requirements, develop performance test scripts, scenarios, and execute the tests. • Actively work on developing, maintaining, and uplifting the necessary test infrastructure to execute the automated tests using cloud and container-based services. • Contribute to the development of QA processes and improvements for their projects within a fast moving, agile environment. • Contributes to the management of effective software control, ensuring test packs are maintained, kept relevant and (where appropriate) version controlled. • Defect identification, replication and communication including risks and required resolutions. Contributes to reporting and tracking of root cause trends. • Contributes to Quality centred activities including peer reviews, collaboration with Engineering and Product (such as Three Amigos), planning, early discovery of defects, exploratory testing techniques, optimal running of regression periods, pro-active risk management. • Work closely with the other product team members and automation engineers to continuously innovate the methods, tooling, and the key quality parameters. • Help junior team members to resolve their issues and guide them to follow best practices. Key performance indicators: • Ability to independently design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks. • Ability to identify the test coverage gaps and fulfil those gaps while maintaining an ideal test pyramid. • Ability to set-up and maintain test pipelines and infrastructure and integrate with other engineering tools. • Ability to work independently on various kind of testing and understand the ecosystem of our cloud products. • Team player and ability to work within the agile team to deliver necessary testing requirements. Skills, knowledge, experience & qualifications: • Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools such as Webdriverio (preferred), BDD Cucumber/Specflow (preferred), Playwright, Cypress, Selenium etc. • Proficiency in creating comprehensive test plans and strategies for software testing, test automation, and performance testing including defining test scope, objectives, and methodologies. • Experience in designing and developing manual and automated test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts to validate software functionality, usability, and performance. • Proficiency in any programming language such as JavaScript (Preferred), C# (Preferred), Python, Java etc. • Understanding of different types of APIs like Rest, Soap, GraphQL, and expertise in API testing using tools like Postman, RestSharp, Axios etc. • Proficient with setting up test pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins etc. • Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling to conduct load and stress testing, and analyse application performance metrics. • Awareness of security testing methodologies and tools to identify vulnerabilities in software applications. • Proficient in cross browser testing and experience using tools like BrowserStack, SauceLabs, LambdaTest is desired. • Expertise in manual testing techniques and methodologies to perform functional, usability, compatibility, and exploratory testing. • Familiarity with bug tracking systems like Jira, Xray Test Management, Zephyr or similar tools. • Ability to create and manage test data, and use of stubs, mocks and service virtualisation, wherever needed. • Skill in creating clear and concise automated test summary reports integrated with test tool, frameworks, and Jira. • Familiarity with Agile development practices and participation in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint retrospectives.
