About You: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to lead our newly-formed AI and Data Squad in Kuala Lumpur. You will play a key role in building data and AI capabilities to support our customers’ data, analytics, and reporting requirements. As a critical member of the team, you will design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines, data models, and AI-driven solutions. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a candidate passionate about delivering high-quality, customer-focused products that solve complex business challenges across the APAC region. Key Responsibilities: 1. Data Infrastructure Development: • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines to ingest, transform, and process large datasets. • Implement scalable and efficient data architectures to support analytics and AI-driven solutions. • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of data systems to meet customer requirements. 2. Data Modeling & Integrations: • Create and optimize data models (e.g., dimensional, normalized) for analytics, reporting, and AI applications. • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to map and integrate data from multiple systems. • Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure seamless data integration and transformation 3. AI & Advanced Analytics Enablement: • Build and support the infrastructure needed for real-time and batch AI solutions. • Ensure that data pipelines and platforms are designed to handle AI and analytics use cases efficiently. 4. Customer-Centric Solutions: • Collaborate with product team and internal stakeholders to understand their data, analytics, and reporting needs. • Build data capabilities and tools that enable customers to derive actionable insights from their data. • Ensure high standards of data quality, governance, and security in customer-facing solutions. 5. Collaboration Across Teams: • Partner with product managers, data analysts, and other engineers to deliver end-to-end data solutions. • Support the integration of AI and analytics features into customer products. • Document and share best practices for data engineering across the team. 6. Continuous Improvement: • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in AI, big data, and analytics. This will include being closely connected to our Evo/Data team as they advance our AI and data capabilities • Identify and implement opportunities to improve data pipelines, processes, and system performance. • Contribute to the team’s culture of innovation and learning. Required Skills and Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, building and supporting data systems for analytics and reporting. • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases. • Expertise in data pipeline design and ETL/ELT workflows, using tools like Apache Airflow, dbt, or similar. • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their data services (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks). • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Scala for data processing. • Knowledge of data modeling techniques and best practices for analytics. • Familiarity with tools for data orchestration, data integration, and workflow automation. • Strong understanding of data governance, quality, and security best practices. • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction. Preferred Skills: • Experience with real-time data processing frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Spark Streaming). • Familiarity with AI/ML workflows and their integration into data pipelines. • Exposure to working in agile teams and delivering customer-focused solutions. • Knowledge of reporting and visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker. Education: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. What does Access offer you?
